Not quite finished yet - needs a headcode. Any suggestions? My usual LSW ones won't really work for a BEP. What would a Dover express have carried?

There were a number of headcodes for London to Dover that could be used. ECS trains were invariably headcode 10; although this equally applied to Folkstone ECS as well. The Victoria - Dover Marine boat train carried headcode 46 for the down service...can't be too sure what the corresponding up diagram would be. The photo I have (from Slam Doors on the Southern by Michael Welch) depicts a train formed of CEPs, however the chances of a BEP being part of other formations for this service would not be implausible.

If you want to move further east, 4 BEPs were also used on the central division. Code 40 would give you a Victoria - Bognor via Dorking service; there is a picture of one of these units forming this service, in green with SYWP in the same book...
