I reckon if I had a mantlepiece big enough to hold that, I wouldn't need to worry about the purchase price...

The article does describe it as an "exact working replica" but doesn't state what the power source is.
It also refers to various items that would be critical for a live steam model, like safety valves, water gauges, etc.

Whether or not it is live steam it certainly is a heck of a beauty.
