Spring forward, Fall back!

go to bed earlier!!
Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;

Quite correct. Classic example here being Queensland. But they are banana benders after all  :D

The Philippines are so  close to the equator that daylight length doesn't vary much (only 1h43m difference between the shortest and longest days according to a Google search), so Daylight Saving wouldn't make much difference.

In the USA, Arizona can be fun, since the state itself doesn't use DST but the Navajo Nation does and the Hopi (whose land is totally enclosed within the Navajo Nation) don't.

A friend told me of a trip he did between the Grand Canyon and Phoenix, which passed through Arizona, the Navajo Nation, the Hopi lands, the Navajo Nation again, Arizona, the Navajo Nation yet again and finally back into Arizona - all on the same road. He'd have had to change his watch six times in a bit over 200 miles if he'd wanted to stick to the right time.

As it was, he had to change it at least twice because he was hoping to reach somewhere en route before it closed and needed to know if he'd manage it.

George, we're going to need some context on that statement please.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

I suspect some kind of nutjob legislation that all bananas have to be straight and not curved :hmmm:

A reminder to those like me who have time/date on their dash cams to reset the time ;)

PLD

If one more media outlet tells me we've "gained an hour of sunlight every day"...  :veryangry: you don't... you just move it from one end to the other!!!  ::)

With today's 24 hour society, why not have everyone everywhere set the clocks to exactly the same time (proper GMT of course) and then everyone gets up/goes to bed whenever suits them to best fit local conditions...

Newportnobby

Just imagine the chaos before railways came along and time got standardised within the UK

At the first clock change after I got my current car, I spent ages trying to work out how to change the time - only to find out that it does it automagically using the DPS satellites.

On my previous car, I also spent ages trying to change the time on the clock in the instrument panel, only to find that to do that I had to change the clock in the media centre - which wasn't set to display a clock so I didn't even know there was one there.
