Yup - they'll look really good with some mineral wagons strung between them  :confused1:

Evening all,

With the arrival of Stepney in Preserved Black i was going to sell my model of her in Stroudley green. Fortunately EP was selling a body of 54 Waddon so a few moments swapping the Chassis and i now have a new addition.

So 6 out of the 10 preserved Terriers. Only 4 to go! Right now to get these lot chipped....

Whenever I write a letter to someone, I add a footnote briefly explaining Ohm's law. It's my P.S. de resistance.

Had a bit of a spree recently so thought I better post the results.

New class 70 for a nice price at TINGS a few weeks ago.

Another pick-up from TINGS. This time a Dapol Network Rail HST.

Bought this second hand recently as I made the mistake of selling off all my stock a few years ago when I was short of money. This is one of the items I was really pleased to get back. Still looking for 2 Farish British Steel Blue Class 60's which were my pride and joy.

This wasn't a recent purchase but it's now got pride of place in my fleet. I bought this as a present to myself a few years ago. It was originally a Mainline 60 but I sent it off for the Mercig treatment and I couldn't be happier with it.

Hopefully have some more to add to this in the coming weeks as I'm expecting a visit or two from the postman.  :)

Dapol are to release the following - i believe around November (Year TBA :P )

2S-012-001 #83 'Earlswood' in Improved Engine Green
2S-012-002 #2659 Southern Lined Green
2S-012-003 #32670 BR Lined Black with late crest

As far as i know they will not be DCC Ready. I don't see how they can find room for a socket in there!

Evening all!

New arrival on Sheaf! Another Farish Ivatt 2MT has arrived from eBay (Seller in Taiwan). 3 Hours after unpacking and she has already been run in, chipped and re-numbered to 46512 as Preserved on the Strathspey Railway. E.V. Cooper Engineer nameplates will be sourced at some point.

So i now have a pair of BR Black Ivatt 2MTs and they've not been released yet :D

Picked up five second hand wagons from one of my local shops.  The open wagons are by Graham Farish, the cattle wagon is by Peco.  The GW Wagons are in their original packaging (probably) and in nice condition (I've probably done more harm to them by giving them a bit of a clean-up).  They all needed the wheels cleaning and the frames on the light grey wagon were a bit splayed; the axles wouldn't stay in place.  I fixed that by warming the plastic in a bowl of hot water then giving it a gentle squeeze in a vice.

Technically GW wagons are wrong for my BR Western Region layout but I'd taken a lot of the shopkeeper's time so I felt I should buy something.

I was toying with the idea of weathering the wagons but the GW ones seem too nice for that, I might just have to get a GW loco and brake van to make a small Great Western goods train.

I really must stop spending!

I just had to get myself this lovely machine today. Runs an absolute treat! I've removed the nameplates ready to receive it's new identity of D1013 Western Ranger :D

I know how you feel, but on balance, I do think a bit of weathering makes all the difference to these wagons!
