Sorry, no posts from the bus stop lately.

The bus company is experimenting with a mini bus on demand!

Ring up, comes pick you up door to door, $1.50.

Ok with me

We have a vaguely similar thing here called CallConnect, with minibuses on set routes responding to requests online or by phone.  Darned if I can find the cost of the fares though!

$1.50 a trip door to door - will that take you as far as Perth or Sydney? :hmmm:
:D

Seriously, how far will that fare take you? Sounds mighty cheap.

Well Bealman will just have to start dumping shopping trolleys on the pavement outside his house then...

Daffy, there are three operating in three different areas of the Illawarra region. I'm lucky enough to live in one of them. It's just a small area of operation, but good enough for me!

However, it's only a trial period, and to be honest, I don't think it's getting a lot of use. Aussies worship their cars too much.

The Q

We have a thing called rail a ride, you pay £8 per year to be a member, and 2 days a week you can ring them up and for £3.60 they'll take you from your door to Hoveton about 10 miles away with the return journey being a couple of hours later. That's enough to shop in the big supermarket there or go to the bank.
If you are going one way that's the nearest railway station..

I have just lifted this from a website called 'Get there.ie' regarding getting a bus from my nearest town, Ballinamore which is 5 miles away, (in the UK it would be called a village!), to Enniskillen, (Northern Ireland), which is a town! If anyone is in the area of County Fermanagh, I can recommend a visit, it also has a model shop, which does not have a lot in n gauge, but is good for model requisites.

The next connection between Ballinamore and Enniskillen is on Fri, 27th April.

And 'they' wonder why people in rural areas refuse to give up their cars!  ::)

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

MinZaPint

My favourite local bus stop with shelter and over the road the "waiting room" a Wetherspoons! you can sit in the window supping a pint and hop out when the bus arrives, it's a turn round stop so the bus will always be there for a couple of minutes. If you miss the bus you can always have another  :pint: while you wait it's a half hour service!

A couple of other bus stops:

This is the one going the other way! This one is just up the hill from Chez Bealman. This is the"Gee, I'm thirsty" bus stop.

And this one is in town. I took this on Anzac Day after I'd finished helping to run the two up game at the Leagues Club. This bus stop is not a very nice place to be on a night, unfortunately.

Seems the No 59 goes further than the route map suggests. ;)

Regular postcards are expected.

Arigatogozaimashita,

Hope that's right.

Also hope the rain stopped and you enjoyed the Aquarium.

Can't be bothered to Google translate again, it's Sunday, so

Cheers weave  :beers:

Have a great trip.
