Plenty of them about, but in 144 scale, not 148.  Try Googling 1:144 Aircraft, or doing the same on eBay.  I'd love a Vulcan in 144, but at £45...   :thumbsdown:  Too much for me.

Hi Tim,

Try typing in  Revell  1/144   on  ebay or google    no   ebay you can narrow down your search  after initial  look to  non military.

Few on ebay less than £40    Tank  if you dont mind used  Vulcan for the layout   ;)

Well, 1/144 scale isn't too far from 1/148. Not sure which I need to divide by which to get an answer as to the difference, but 148/144 gives about 1.03, so that looks like 3% difference...
Hmm... Could I get away with a couple of Harriers (with UNIT markings) in the late 60's when they didn't appear till 1969... [Like me, in fact :)]

Oddly I came into possession of a couple of Corgi aircraft in 1:144 just yesterday - a lancaster and a flying fortress I think it was. They'd been left behind at work by someone who'd probably got them for set dressing (I work in a film school).

If anyone wants them and has something small to offer as a swap let me know. They're mint and boxed.

thanks for the tip will google 1/144 aircraft now and see what there is

i saw a layout on ebay with a sea plane on it, which is pretty cool.

why don't more people have airports on their layout? what on the surface railways go close to airports? preswick, gatwick, standsted, tyne/tees???

anyway my layout is small so wouldnt fit an airport on...

They're easy to obtain from just about any decent model shop.
I picked up one of these for just a few quid at an exhibition and I'm part way through building it;

Hi Tim,

Fleetline do a number of metal aircraft. Not as detailed as some of the 1/144 kits you get but they are always another option.

Web address is;  http://www.gemmodelrailways.co.uk/

This company does a range of commercial planes in 1:150 scale (as well as other scales so double check) that look good;

Dakota DC3 Air France, 1/144 scale, might suit someone modelling an earlier era than me!

I have an airfix 1:144 scale Concorde to find a home for somewhere in my flat above the layout. Problem is theres nowhere I can hang it up without it being in the way of something!

Hi Guys,

Not really civilian aircraft, but i've just finished a NATO German Airforce F-104 starfighter in 1/144:

This is a great kit from revell and only cost £2.99!:

Nice! Perhaps we should make this thread dedicated to sharing photos of our 1:144 aircraft. This is the N gauge forum, but nowehere does it say anything about it only being for railways!
