Title: What glue for sticking diesel loco windows back in?
Post by: kirky on May 14, 2018, 08:04:16 PM
Hello people
I'm just embarking on a repaint of a 37. I removed the windows for painting.
The last time I did a repaint I used cheapo superglue to stick windows back in, but ended up with a frosted effect - not really what I was looking for. Just wondering what other people use?

cheers
Kirky

Canopy glue another good one for such tasks - but as with all it must be used sparingly!

Plasti-zap cyano doesn't cause fogging. I've just glazed a 16mm garden railway coach using it.

Of course, given how many different plastics there are the only sound advice is to try on a sample first, but that may be impossible in your case.

:dunce: Well I never. I didnt realise that glue n glaze could be used for sticking windows in to models. I thought it was solely for making windows. Doh  :dunce:

Cheers guys

The frosting it caused by the glue vaporising and having no where for the vapours to escape to. Super Glue is notorious for messing up windows.

Ordinary PVA works as well, as does tacky PVA
