Just saw on the news here that you folk in the UK can go back to pubs!

Good news (I hope)  :beers:

Sorry - but I fear the worst. The couple next door to me who have religiously obeyed lockdown so far packed up the car at 09.00 this morning and are obviously intent on some form of socialising.
I think the headlines over the next 2 days are not going to be pretty :worried:

You're probably right Nobby. There are far to many idiots about. Wouldn't be so bad if it was just them who reaped the "benefits" of their stupidity but unfortunately its others who will.

Look on the bright side. We've been open here for a month, and most people are behaving responsibly.  :beers:

I don't want to be the 'Doomsayer', especially not in the Happy Thread, but over the last couple of weeks Brits have shown they cannot be trusted to behave considerately. They may be a minority but it's quite a large minority.
Good weather? Let's stick 2 fingers up at distancing and go and wreck a beach or two
Won the divisional championship? Let's stick 2 fingers up at distancing and congregate outside Anfield stadium?
Fancy a knees up? Let's stick 2 fingers up at distancing, have a rave, and pelt police with missiles.
We're doomed, Mr. Mainwaring, we're doomed.

Drat - I have become a Doomsayer in the Happy Thread

Can we transport the trouble-makers to Australia in exchange for some responsible citizens?  Clearly something went hugely wrong first time around :D

Unfortunately I shan't be going to the pub anytime soon, I like to be able to wander in when I want, stand by the pumps (cask Ale) make a choice, lean on the bar and have a chat to the Landlord and some of the regulars then join my pals and until it is safe to do that I'll give it a miss. The club where I attempt to play golf has an extensive outside area where I shall be able to enjoy an apres round pint, we have been taking our own and with our camp chairs and the clubs permission sat outside. The Wednesday Wanderers have continued to meet in each others gardens with bottled beers as previously shown. This weeks treat was freshly cooked Poole cockles, super yummy!  :food: A pic of our meeting at Chez MinZapint

I agree with all of the above so the beer garden of the Longcroft Lion Inn will be open at 18:30 for up to 4 invited guests. I had 8 pints of Stonehenge Pigswill and another 8 pints of Danish Dynamite delivered yesterday. Happy days!

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

Today I was FAR more interested in getting a haircut rather than attending a pub or restaurant.
My hair needed three inches (7 cm) cut all round and I was the first customer present at my local hairdressers located right below my flat.
I feel very happy now and ready to face the new English post-lockdown world!  :claphappy:

My wife decided I needed a hair trim so decided she would do it for me. Hopefully, as am high risk, the lockdown will go on long enough for it to grow out.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Louisa has trimmed mine a couple of times during the lock down, but I spoke to the lady barber who does mine, (properly  :-X), on Friday and I am 'booked in' for next Thursday so, hopefully, I will be feeling a bit light headed afterwards.
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

Mother Nature has blessed me in this respect and I don't need to sleep with one eye open :D

My hairstyle (egg in a nest) has not changed for millenia and is easily done with an all over No.4 :)
I did try an all over No.2 once but it stank and people crossed the road to avoid me :-[
