I'm glad to say that we don't have that problem with our three cats. A previous cat did steal the next-door neighbour's chicken fillets from her kitchen work-top and sleep in her window box, crushing all the plants ... on the SAME day! Luckily, the neighbour was a cat lover and wasn't annoyed.

Our first cat was a bit of a kleptomaniac. He brought home on different occasions a football sock and two football boot laces. I think he was going for the full kit but had an argument with a fox that it lost.
