Title: Spam
Post by: TrevL on August 05, 2022, 09:47:05 AM
Over the last two weeks, I've received five emails all from "noreplay@" different email addresses, which all consisted of a series of 90   0-9 random digits.  There aren't any links or such like, so I'm wondering what's the point?  My spam filter is automatically putting them in the junk folder so no worries there, just curious?

Ignore them, don't even open them otherwise you risk triggering any "web bugs" or "web beacons"  as they used to be known:  hidden single pixel images which when retrieved from a dodgy website indicated that the email had been opened and the address is live.  Spam folders in email clients should normally refrain from showing images in emails, but as I say just leave them unopened and delete immediately.
