Title: Problems with the forum?
Post by: Tank on November 23, 2012, 12:47:46 PM
Could you please state here if you receive errors with the forum loading please, as we've been getting '504 Gateway Timeout' on various days and I'd like to keep track of them.

Many thanks.

Was getting this yesterday evening, can't remember exactly what time, will make a note in future.  It was running extremely slow at one point.

A few weeks ago I was informed that I was a robot and had to do some sums before I could access the forum. I was using an iPad but I'm not a robot, honest  :D
I haven't had the gateway timeout notice but I did wonder about the robot ones.

Veronica.

I got the 504 gateway timeout yesterday at 12.29pm precisely.
I switched the computer off as I had other things to do, when I went online much later everything was fine again.

Agree with John.
Wasn't able to get on at work today due to IT issues, but it does seem to go down at around 12.30 every day :(

I have no such error, but I do still have the problem that I can only log in from the Home Page after two or three attempts.

What never works is coming to the forum, reading a thread(s), deciding I want to reply, and then trying to log in through the top of that thread's page. That never works at all.

I don't know why! Cleared caches and all that stuff too!

I've had this too when trying to access the forum on my phone. I used to get the mobile version of the site on it but now it's reverted back to the full site.

If you go right down to the bottom of the home page there is the word "mobile" click on it and you'll have the mobile version on your phone again.  I find when using my mobile it is quite easy to inadvertantly get the full site when you don't need it and discovered the link back to the mobile site by accident.  :)

Chris,

I've had major dramas getting into the Forum since about 12:20ish, 502 - Bad Gateway errors, 504 - Gateway Timeout Errors and my Office Network timeout errors.

Obviously I'm in now, but it seems to be painfully slow at the moment.

I wonder if the Hosting Company are doing their Anti-Virus sweeps on their Hosting Servers at this time of the day??? depending on where the Servers are hosted of course!!!

Regards

Neal.

It has to stop for a blow up  every now and again, especially if the fireman goes to sleep and forgets to add more coal.

For the last couple of days the forum has been accusing me of being a spambot (couldn't see any questions to answer to prove I wasn't) whenever I log in on the work laptop over my home broadband with VPN connected.  I can access the forum as normal if I disconnect VPN so I am linking directly rather than via the office.  I don't know if this means someone at work has been sending spam - certainly the IT people seem to behave like zombies so that could be it.

assuming you have a dynamic ip address, it is possible someone used that ip address for spam and you got caught by the forums anti-spam measures, i have disabled it on your account so it should not cause issues in the future.

Had trouble logging in at 13:30 today Sunday 2nd Dec, message read
"safari could not open page because server stopped responding" however could get into other web sites without any trouble.
Tried Forum again about an hour later and got in without any problem.

I got this message at about 12:30 today;

"Connection Problems

I had just finished reading a topic and was trying to read another. Tried refreshing the screen but got the same message.

I don't suppose that the hosts are for some weird reason doing backups at that time?

Wasn't sure where to stick this, but decided on this thread.

Since the Server Move, I seem to have 2098 unseen photos in the Media section according to the front page, even though I've no Unseen photos when I select the Unseen link from the Media menu!!!

If that makes sense  :confused1: :confused1:

Having problems since the upgrade, mobile network problems aside keep getting errors on the mobile phone saying  access denied. (Wap)
Pictures in posts do not seen to show and sometimes I cannot even open posts.
Going to delete the forum from my laptop and 2 Android  devices that I link via Wi Fi.
I shall delete all cookies, clear caches and start all over again in a couple of days time.
Those that need to contact me and know my email, I can still access and answer them.
