Middlesbrough's iconic Transporter Bridge is 100 years old today!

You can read about it here http://www.middlesbrough.gov.uk/ccm/navigation/leisure-and-culture/local-history-and-heritage/historic-buildings-and-structures/transporter-bridge/;jsessionid=84D8D59B28FEDCE1B7163B7A413CB91B

I should point out that it does in fact run on rails and therefore is a kind of upside down ultra broad gauge railway.

My Dad took me to see the Middlesborough bridge in 1959.  Think we spent about an hour gazing at it.  I was 4.
