Hey !

Who moved the August goalposts  ???

N_GaugeModeller

There may be spelling and grammatical errors in my posts, I am Dyslexic so just think yourself lucky you can actually read what I have written.

I am also in the early stages of Alzheimer's and Vascular dementia so sometimes struggle with basic communication.

You don't need to point out my errors.  Thanks

I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

Think he means the August Forum donations presumably to fund the updates.

Edit. Martin beat me to it.

Updates cost a lot of money.....!  :(  Every time there is an error there are £££'s to pay.

Hi

Upgrades I can understand but surely errors (bug fixes, etc) are covered by your maintenance contract.

Cheers

We have a maintenance contract?!?!  :D  No, we don't have one.  I just pay out when problems occur which I don't understand.  Thankfully these are rare!

Are above, we're seeing a huge influx from 'bots' which are slowing down the server, but the forum and database are the ones that are taking the brunt.  It looks like we'll have to block certain parts of the world to get around it...   :(

That fits in with my recent experience. Our home internet slowed to a crawl, with many sites timing out. Investigation showed that our home server was being targeted - they didn't get in, but the overhead of the router dealing with constant attempts was enough. Apart from one attempt from Rumania and a small number from Vietnam, all of them came from China.

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.
