just got our postal votes for this,

and at the risk of being called political,

didn't we vote to leave this 'club' over three years ago.

still, don't need to put a stamp on the envelope, you notice no price on the stamps these days, just '1st' or '2nd', ie lost in one day, or lost in two  :smiley-laughing:

For fear of getting entangled, make sure you vote.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Sure did, but you can't seem to decide which exit to use. :smiley-laughing:
The rest of the world thanks UK for the entertainment and diversion from our concerns over the last couple of years. :smiley-laughing:
To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.

Its just a con so the  meps are entitled to there redundancy pay,if  at the point of departure there were no elected uk meps then no payout,by holding an election and filling the seats the gravy train riders get to claim there full entitlement.

Sorry but that just isn't true.  Any redundant MEP will get their redundancy as normal eg if they are not elected again depending on their length of service.  In fact in pretty much the opposite of what you wrote, if a new MEP is elected and the UK leaves within 12 months then that MEP will get nothing.

apart, presumably, from their pay and allowances, expenses etc.

for years Sinn Fein refused to take their seats, but anybody want to bet that they didn't paid anyway.

further comments would definitely be political, or at least anti politicians, so I will refrain.

Just remember, at least you get a vote and that's a valuable thing.

As an expat (by choice), I don't get to vote in the UK or in the US.

Of course salaries etc will be paid as relevant - that is an essential part of any democracy ie paying representatives so that it isn't the preserve of the rich.

SF MPs don't get paid their MP salaries.  SF does get some expenses as their MPs still do constituency work without sitting in Parliament.
