Hi All,

After reading  the latest  copy  of N'spirations   #5   i   have to  say  its  the first  magazine  style booklet  totally   dedicated to  N gauge with  everything in  plain  English  none   of the gobbledegook &   biase associated with other  publications.

Printed on  good quality  paper with  all colour  pages ideal to  put  in  your  pocket  if your  on the move or to  enjoy at home relaxing  in your armchair, for it's  price  i  have not  seen in  40yrs  modelling a publication  to  compare  to  it.

Sending for a copy  couldnt be easier &  the speedy  service  H provides is first class.

No  Association  to  H  just very happy  customer to  see  such   good value for money.

Copies can be obtained;

* Through ebay with payment by Paypal

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nspirations5-British-N-Gauge-magazine-style-booklet-/120768175828?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1c1e581ed4

* By mail order with a cheque for £3 (includes P&P).

* Directly from a number of specialist traders/dealers including the N Gauge Society. Please note that these will probably not be available from the traders until at The International N Gauge Show (10/11th September at Leamington). The plan was to launch N'spirations5 at TINGS so the bulk will be available thjere from the usual traders.

I agree with you Upnick.  It lives up to its name - the photos are excellent and the layouts are inspriational. 8)

I like the practical how-to approach to the tutorial articles too.  I liked the bus one last time and bought the necessary busses to give it a go.

I just sent my cheque to H and only hope it gets there before he sells out!   ::)

I agree.  This was my first issue and I enjoyed the read, layout and clear photo's.  Maybe there could be a review in the next issue of the forum?!  ;)

Perhaps H will reciprocate and give NGF some free advertising in his mag  ;)

Just received my copy of No. 5 - my first issue -fuNtastic  - excellent articles clearly written in English.  A very enjoyable read.   ;D

Pity the previous issues are sold out, I would certainly buy back numbers if they were available.

Is there a subscription service?

The first post mentions that the bulk was to be made available at TINGS, is this still the case? if so then surely this issue can't be close to being sold out just yet  ???

What a great idea!

H - would you consider taking subscription orders for future issues, presumably paid in advance?

Cracking idea, Gromit. H gets money up front and it may take some of the pain out of the office work
What do you reckon, H?

A "Digital Edition" or compendium of previous issues (as they usually go out of print) would be good once you've got a few issues out. £10 for a 5 issue CD would probably be reasonable with them all as PDFs. That or you could simply go the iBooks route and publish them for £2 a pop on the iBook store (they'd be protected files then, so you wouldn't have the piracy risk you'd get with selling CDs).

A lot of these 'protection' systems are just rackets. Firstly they are usually trivial to break, and secondly its just as easy to stuff the paper one under a scanner. At the end of the day people pay because they want something and usually with an element of 'right now', so you'll lose more on the "protection" than to the usual mix of loans, second handles sales and plain naughty copying

Having it on my iPad/iPhone for when I get a chance to read it and not losing the paper copy makes it worth it to me as a reader though (especially now I don't have to keep copies of them all locally) and the large customer base without having to do the cost of print runs makes it a bit of a no-brainer on the sales side too.
