I'm having issues on posting a new topic?

I wanted to start a new topic in book review, trouble is, everytime I clicked the new topic button, it just takes me to the main forum topics page???

Help please mods??

Just tried it myself @OwL  - got the same result.  ???

I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.

I think it's just the book review topic!

I've just successfully posted elsewhere with no problems.

MODS? Are you aware?

Thanks in advance, I'm sure they will sort it quickly :helpneededsign:

Same problem with DVD Reviews, although the other review sections seem okay.

Neither of them work for me either so @Only Me will need to solve it for us all

Just comes up with 'Forms for reviews'
I haven't got a clue about managing boards as you suggest and if I'm a Smod you're a Smeg :P :D

Basically forum members submit a review and it gets ok'd by you before it appears

Well I never. That's news to me. Is it really necessary? Are our members likely to post reviews of blue films or proscribed books? I can't imagine anyone posting a DVD review of "Debbie Does Clapham Junction"

Reminds me of a little limerick I know about Clapham Junction and a policeman, but we won't go there.

I've written quite a few book reviews, and never had to have them proof read by Mick...  :hmmm:

News to me as well!

I cant win can I... damned if i do and damned to an eternal ear bashing from NpN if i dont!

I thought it was quite a reasonable question. Why is it necessary for book and DVD reviews to pass cencorship? Not a case of 'winning' at all

Well ! all over my top !! Way too cryptic for me,
but (Debbie and Melanie not withstanding *) I did work near Shepherd's Bush long time ago (dublo'nintento intended)
{Lime Grove, if anyone needs to know !}

So, as I just bought "Eats, shoots & leaves" as a result of the educational Ebay language postings
it is a good job that I have not yet finished it, thus not yet ready to post a review.

Should I have an insatiable desire to do so, like the Op, in the future, would someone care to enlighten us, mere mortals, as to who when  where and how ?

Instead of knocking off mod points ?

cos it is still cream_crackered

*did I lead a sheltered yoof, it was (M)andy (R)ice Davies back then ;) youngsters hereabouts can google profumo

Are we any closer to solving Owl's original problem?  :hmmm:

Dont look like it !
3 cryptic mods and counting.

mind you, there is always the SMF PDFs
but I am only an 'umble'* user, so it aint up to me.

*as Dickens would say

I'm in talks right this second with getting someone on board to completely start the forum from scratch for me in a new database, with added tweaks that members want.  Upgrading to a higher PHP version on the server has messed up a lot of modifications and add-ons.

I don't remember reviews ever needing to be vetted before, but perhaps I've remembered incorrectly?!  Due to me not spending the time on here that I used to, I'm forgetting how some areas worked!

Newportnobby

I'm unable to post a DVD review. Just comes up with 'Forms for Reviews'
