When I enter text such that the text box for posting becomes full, my browser jumps back up to the top
As a result I find it very difficult to type and or edit long posts, quite often resulting in typing errors and a large amount of time taken modifying each character

Thanks for the message.  Which browser and version do you use?

MJKERR

Using various computers, all of which have different versions of Windows and IE
The issue is present on everything up to IE8
Advice on other thread was to upgrade to IE9 however the main machine I use cannot accept IE9 and has IE6

I'll see if there is anoth fix for it.  Where I work they use IE8 on about 800 machines.   :(  My machine at work now has Firefox on it though thankfully - which I downloaded myself.  I appreciate that not everyone can do this.

Chris

I have this issue with several forums, both when using IE8 on XP and IE9 on Windows 7. I think it's a bug with the PHBB software. I get round this by typing long messages in Word first then pasting the text into the forum.

I find Firefox a lot better than IE, especially when I was revamping our work website, but think it is easier to store favourite railway sites on IE. I have 23 such sites on my computer at work and just hope the boss doesn't find out. Of course, I only use them during breaks! I use them mainly for price comparisons between the big mail order shops and for those hard to find bits/DVD's etc that we all need now and then.

Yes a know issue with phpBB software, but even there noone seems to know as it seems to only affect a small number of people, suggesting it is a local configuration issue

There was an update come through via windows only a few days ago and it seem to be since then.. even my ebay page has gone funny in the way i can go from one item list to the next all the links seem dead.

You need to put so much text in the box it fills it, then scrolls to the bottom, which then scrolls the old text to the top
I agree in IE9 this solves the issue, but this has caused me issues in Windows Mail (plus some text issues within IE9)
I am leaving IE9 installed just now, but will just have to live with this issue on my other computer (as IE6 cannot be installed)
