I have managed before but am now stuck trying to upload some photos to My Album, I click browse I select the file I click submit and wait as it times out.

Is it me or the system?

Thanks, Guys.
Another house move despite "never again" has given me a second floor layout so Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line will be modified and enlarged with siding storage.

My Facebook Diary is Geominster if anyone wants to view it please ask, it is a private group requiring acceptance, thanks.

This then is my third version modified which has been improved from previous efforts and lessons learned.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled. Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

It certainly sounds like an image size problem as the forum doesn't allow massive image sizes to be uploaded.

You can either use a program you already have (Paint on a PC?) to reduce to image size down to preferably 500kB or thereabouts or use a third party program.

Here are some instructions for using a third party web based service courtesy of Pengi.

How to resize your pictures for the forum

1.   Ensure that you know the location of where your image file is stored

2.   Open this link to open the 'pic resize' website
http://www.picresize.com/

3.   Click on the 'Browse' button. This will take you to the files on your computer.

4.   Locate the file that contains the image and select it. The name of the file should appear in the white box.

5.   Select the blue Quick resize link (it is located under Additional Options at the bottom left of the grey box)

6.   Under the Section 2, Quick Resize, ensure that JPG is selected in the Save as Format box and enter 500 in the Maximum Filesize box

7.   Click on the yellow 'I'm Done, Quick resize my picture' box

8.   After a few moments, a new screen will appear. Select 'Save to disk' (at the bottom left of the grey box) and select the location that you want to save it too. It will be saved with rsz_1 in front of your original file name and it will not overwrite your original file

Your picture should now be saved at a reduced file size. Do not be concerned if the file size is less than 500kb, it will be good enough for the forum.

Go to "media" in the menu at the top, and click on "My Albums". Find the album you want, in there find the picture you want and click on it. When it opens up you should see a code that looks like this:-

[smg id=xxxxx]

. . . where the x's are the image number. Copy this whole code and paste it straight into your reply - do not use the 'Insert Image' button
