N Gauge Discussion / GWR Railcar Drawings?
Last post by Will_J - Today at 04:55:19 PM
Hi all! Can anyone tell me where I might find good drawings for various GWR railcars please? There might be a few out there but as always quality varies dramatically especially from online sources - difficult for me to know which are reliable! So any pointers here would be very much appreciated.

TIA,

Will.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but frustrating when you have paid for something but can no longer see it and who knows what may be relevant in the future  :(

When I open an issue of RM magazine in the "Exact Editions" website reader, there is an option to print the issue to a PDF file.

As a BR(WR/SR) modeller, it's very good to see a Modified Hall - though I don't need one (roll on the Bulleid West Country!)... the Class C is very tempting though I doubt whether one ever reached Exeter, let alone penetrated North Devon or North Cornwall, though I do have a Birdcage set!

I am a bit disappointed with the lack of new coaches: personally, what I'd like to see is some Collett bow-ended stock dating from the early/mid thirties, much of which survived the Crimson/Cream era to be repainted in Maroon. Oh, and please re-release the Bulleid coaches in BR Stock Green (I don't like Malachite). I know that asking for RTR ex-GWR Toplight stock in BR colours would be asking for the incredibly improbable, though it's a nice thought... :hmmm:

Quote from: trkilliman on Today at 01:54:17 PMI quite fancy a Modified Hall in black, with a Hawksworth tender.
Is this being released at the same time, or further down the line ? (no pun intended)

Fond memories of two Modified Halls at the former Bristol Bath Rd open days. Stood on the footplates of Hart Hall and Thornycroft Hall in 1964. They were in steam and I can feel the heat now!

IIRC, these Halls were shedded at the former LMS shed Bristol Barrow Rd, after St.Phillips Marsh shed closed.
I believe that they are due April 2026 but, of course, take that with  a large dose of salt.

A woman in Borehamwood in the 80's had a Porsche with the number plate ON P1L........equally brazen!

I'm really torn about digital content. The ability to screen shot anything is OK at times but for commercial magazines it's a real risk. I am an almost permanent free user of Readly, as they keep offering me free two month subscriptions, which I close just before the end. Normally I get another offer within a month. That gives me access to the vast bulk of model and real railway magazines. However, so much is duplicated in all these mags that it is only the rare article that appeals, which is why I gave up buying RM and Railway Magazine in the 2000s. I've built up a small but useful library of photos from screen shots, not for commercial use but to aid my modelling. I used to buy old mags wherever possible so also have a good hard copy archive of useful stuff.

I don't know what the answer is as I cannot be the only person doing this. Isn't the modern world wonderfully frustrating.

Latest addition to the bus stop... what a laugh that is. Our electricity is coal generated and the entire Wollongong region is dotted by coal mines.

The huge intellects in the local council strike again. >:(
