kato point switch

   hi  all         its  the  pest  again    .......  i  have  3  kato  scissor  crossings    ....  which  unlike  the  peco pl-21  switch  4 pole dt   .....  kato  does  not  need  that   as  it  only  has  2  wires  for  all  4  point  motors  ....  i  want  to  use  a  mini  toggle  for  my  other  peco  points
  what  type  of  toggle  switch  would  be  used  on  the  kato  2  wire  point  ?  could  i  get  away  with  the  mini  toggles  i  have

Kato points require a pulse of reversible DC in those two wires.   

You need a (ON) OFF (ON) centre off momentary toggle switch (just as you would for a 3-wire Peco point motor), however:

If your power supply for points is DC then you need a DPDT switch cross-wired, as shown on this page

If your power supply is AC then you can use an SPDT switch like you would for Peco point motors and a single pair of diodes.  Look on this page at the section "(c) The -Other- Other way". The diagram shows individual push buttons but a momentary SPDT would do the same job as both buttons. 
The wiring becomes a bit more complex as you need to connect one side of the pair of wires from the point to create a common return. That can all be done in your control panel so that the wiring from each point to the panel is just the usual pair of wires.

I think @ntpntpntp means a momentary on-off-on switch. IE a non latching switch with off on the centre.
