I understand the Twickenham model railway club has an active n gauge group and layout

Hillingdon Railway Modellers were pretty good when I was a member 20 years ago.
"The Model Railway Club" is based near Kings Cross IIRC. Depends a bit on where in NW London you want!

Still active, with emphasis on O/ OO. However they have a small N test track for visitors ( DC/DCC)
Regular open days are worth a visit
