I use an iPad, and usually have no issues using the full site. However, when I open the calendar, the adverts on the right hand side of the screen obscure/overwrite the last column of events. It makes no difference as to whether you use portrate or landscape.
Have you tried changing the resolution of your ipad screen Malc?
cheers John.
You can't adjust the native resolution, but you can zoom in. Doing so makes no difference to the adverts position.
I am at a loss as to what to suggest Malc :help:
Call out Inspector Pengi of the Yard...? :help:
I have just started to use the ipad at home until I get the railway room set up, and the calender is giving me grief also, this must be an easy fix?
Writing web pages for Tablet and Mobile browsers is a black art, and what is right for one often looks odd in others...
I'd try installing a second browser (if Apple will allow it)
I found some sites had 'layout issues' in the standard browser on an Android Tablet so installed Firefox as an alternative browser.
I tried Firefox on the iPad, still the same error. It just seem like the calendar is just too wide.
That sounds like it has been coded with a fixed width instead of adjusting automatically, when I used to use Microsoft Front Page to create websites if you weren't careful it would put in hard page widths and anyone viewing them on lo-res screens would have to scroll yards to see the whole page.
I think you have put your finger on it Caz, all we need now is someone to fix it.
When iOS8 is out in sep/oct there is an update to Safari that will tell websites that it's a proper browser and not a mobile one, this should help your display issues.
I tried Firefox, but it has the same problem, so not specifically Safari.
Now iOS 8 is here, I'd just like to point out that this error still exists in both Safari and Firefox. Any chance of a fix as Sunday is a popular day for exhibitions?
Yeah I just had look on me Aldi elcheapo phone here in Australia, Malc.. same prob. I can live with it, but, as you say, it covers Sunday!
Having a mighty fine Victoria Bitter at bowling club, by the way. ;)
Shame about the overloud and out of tune band they have on. :worried: :beers:
George
It's the first time I've looked at the Calendar I get the same problem on my IPad but I use the free app Model railway Exhibitions and Events so it doesn't bother me that much but I'm sure the techy guys can sort it.
Bob
Yeah, Bob, I'm back here at home on me laptop, (early night for Bealman!) and everything is cool.
As you say, I guess you can access shows via other means these days.... but it bugs me a bit that what I consider to be the best website on the entire net has the overlap prob. I just want it perfect.
Bloomin' schoolteacher talking! :D ;D ;)
Once again, like you say, the techs will work it out. Not me, obviously :worried:
George
I seem to have missed this. Can anyone send me a screen shot please?
I'd never looked at the calendar until now (I didn't know it existed to be honest) and checked to see if my birthday is listed next August. Luckily it is and then I started looking at others' birthdays. I never realised how old some of you are! :D

We're not old, just temporally challenged.
As is so often quoted
Growing OLD is compulsory - Growing UP, optional

Just noticed - why do the driving wheels on your loco go backwards yet the smoke is correct for going forwards? :confused1:
As opposed to this one?

Fairly obvious really, bloody strong head wind :D :nerner:
Trainfish has it right :confused2:
Any movement on this issue? The calendar is still NFG at the RHS.
Sorry Malc, went out of my head. I'll look into it when the server move finally happens.
It is impossible to resize the calendar and the ads on the Right are superimposed on the weekend events, making them impossible to read.
Is this fixable??
Railway gun if you click on the arrows on the leftover the calendar it opens up separate dates which are much easier to read"
Bob
Thanks - legible at last ( even if we can't fix the top, page)

Any more news on this issue @Tank (http://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?action=profile;u=2) ?
Sorry, I thought someone else had fixed it. It's a job to keep up with everything. :worried: Will PM him right now!!!!!!!
I suspect it will be down to the coding on how the page layout is set up so rather than the "image" of the calendar being a specific size it may be given a % of screen space where as the adds may be a specific size. Hard to explain unless you understand internet coding. I also suspect it may be down to the company that hosts the forum set up that the issue lies with rather than something that can be amended in the admin settings. (I hope that all makes sense)
That's right Vonk, it'll be the coding for the Advertising modification interfering rather than the calendar itself. I might be able to fix it myself, but after 'breaking' the forum a couple of years back my confidence has gone! LOL Plus, I'm at work and I'm not allowed to use FTP.
T'has been a few years since I have done any coding and even then I wasn't running a forum so can't offer much help. I know things have come on leaps and bounds since then as well so can only offer my best wishes to you over this tank!
