Jimi Hendrix was a Soul Man - he was the Isley Brothers' guitarist  ;)

Here is a (love and) peace offering for you Joe @joe cassidy !

The magnificent Lady Blackbird. Hope you like it!

By contrast, Led Zep on top form with JB thrashing hell out of his drum kit

Moonglum

Excellent @Newportnobby, I only have this on "How the West was Won". Somehow I missed Led Zeppelin III! but by "Physical Graffitti" I thought their best work was behind them.

Thanks Tim.

Reminds me of Norah Jones, but a bit huskier

Staying in the early 70s and another band I saw (twice I think).
Lothlorien is my favourite track by Argent and contains some masterful keyboards :

Thank you for posting Martin, my notes from my spread sheet of concerts attended notes:

"Back Door was an interesting jazz trio but Argent was a good knees or "heads" up in total contrast!"

We saw Argent at Brunel University, Uxbridge on 31 January 1975 supported by Back Door. I must admit I never really explored their albums but did like "Hold Your Head Up".  Unfortunately, "God Gave Rock and Roll to You" drives me potty - especially the Kiss version! I didn't realise Rod Argent was in The Zombies. Here is one for your...

I like this and saw her live just before the Covid lockdown but not so sure about other things she has done. I even spoke to her to pass a message on...

Cheers,

Tim

Very nice.
Her voice reminds me just a little of Kate Bush.

Hi Martin,

Others have said that about her being like Kate Bush. No where near as good IMO. Here she is again with the Beatrix Players. Quite pleasant... with Steve Hackett's brother on flute.

BTW, the Argent track was a nice slice of prog!

Yes - Close to the edge.
One of their better albums, to my mind.
The usual incomprehensible lyrics from Jon Anderson, though

Yes were definitely one of my favourites of the early 70s.
I probably saw them 6 times.
I never really got to grips with the stuff they released post about 1975 though.

Just thinking that myself.

A great track for a film adaptation of the original work

Newportnobby

I would commend the 1994 Yes album 'Talk' which, although not 100% good, has some stand out tracks very much worth listening to
