One of my favourite bands from the early 1970s.
I saw them, I think, three times and they were always great value.
The band I refer to is Man.
Not a great video here but a nice track from 1971

I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

I saw 'Man' backing up 'Hawkwind' in the early 70s and bought the double album 'Greasy Truckers Party' on which 'Man' took up one side with 'Spunk Rock'

Martin, ahh yes Man, a lot of my school chums liked Man. One of them lent me "Back to the Future", the track that really stood out for me was the live version of C'mon, especially from about the 6 minute mark - brilliant - a bit Floydish with a Welsh choir. Here it is...

Mick, I also remember the "Greasy Truckers Party" album! Time to listen to it again!

Cheers,

Tim

PS it's great that three blokes who like railway modelling have a common interest in such good music.

PPS the drummer Terry Williams played with Dire Straits.

Hi Martin @port perran , have you seen/heard this?

Enjoying it as I type, very polished but only Martin Ace in the band now.

Cheers,

Ta muchly, Tim.
Proper R & B, unlike the  :poop: they call R & B nowadays

Newportnobby

Another long lived band who I saw at the Derngate, Northampton.
This is one of their best albums IMHO - 'Rain Dances'

Moonglum

An excellent track Mick @Newportnobby . I bought this album on its release from Our Price Records on the Edgware Road, London along with Renaissance's "Novella" album. "Moon Madness" is good but "The Snow Goose" doesn't quite get it right for me. The addition of Richard Sinclair (ex Caravan and Hatfield and the North) on bass and vocals brought an improvement to Camel.

Cheers,

Tim

Thanks Tim. That's very nice. I particularly like Bananas but it has always been one of my favourite tracks.

And @Newportnobby . Thanks for the Camel video. I never saw them and know little about them but I like your clip so I'll investigate further.

Now, here's another band from the 1970s. A San Francisco psychedelic rock/folk outfit fronted by David and Linda LaFlamme.
I never saw them, indeed I'm not sure if they ever toured in the UK.
This is It's a Beautiful Day with what is, in my opinion, their best track - White Bird.
I bought the album after listening to it in the sound booth (remember those?) of my local record shop :

That's dedication @Railwaygun ! Funnily enough, I was only listening to these two tracks earlier this week on a Spotify Playlist I recently made up. A great singer and a sad loss. I will have a listen to the remix later.

Cheers,

Tim
