I thought these had died out but today received a letter posted
in UK detailing how to get 1/2 share of $12 million held in Shenzen
Development Bank in name of someone who has similar name to mine
and this sum is going begging. The letter writer Wang Li Xiaoping
has assured me that we can be of one accord and act swiftly to get this,
and I must not betray his confidence.

He awaits my positive response.

Anyone know the Chinese for Foxtrot Oscar?  :D

The fact that you read this email probably means they now know it is a valid email address and you will receive more from various sources.

These should be deleted without reading then they soon stop  ;)

cheers John.

If you have hotmail as your email provider, always mark as spam or report it to them as phishing scam.
I would not reply to them direct as they would know the email account is active and bombard you with more crap from different sources.

Never read retters stating you have 12 mirrion quid to craim :D
And before anyone says I am being racist, I've received a mail at work from Japan asking about prastics and lublication so my customer was obviously spelling as he would say it :P

Whilst the advice about e-mails and Hotmail is sound, I think Agrippa said it was an actual paper letter (how retro is that?!)

Seconded :D

Maybe people are too aware of scam e-mails these days so they thought they'd try a more 'official' approach instead? ;)

It was indeed a paper letter so he has wasted a second class stamp. ;D
