Great post Dave. I'd forgotten the Jimmy Page "Dazed and Confused" bow playing and I'd never heard of Foghat. Must of been the 60's catching up with me as I don't remember much from the 70's. But an excellent track, so I must find some of their LP's. In your opinion, which is the best?
Malc

Hi Malc I have all of Foghats stuff on vinyl and dont know what is available on CD today but if you can get the album you just listened to it was their best, plenty of other Foghat stuff to hear on Youtube

Thanks for the reminder Mick. Jan Ackerman was an exceptional guitarist. Hocus Pocus was played to death in the 70's

Heard this on the radio being sung by a much inferior artist than Ian Gillan. Not a fan of the rock opera or particularly religious but am a fan of IG and his vocals on this song really does it for me - particularly the screams at 2.27 and between 3.02 and 3.11. Definitely one of my Desert Island discs.

Rage Against The Machine- Killing in the name :music:

Old skool classic angst rebellion song, and funnily enough UK No.1 for Christmas 2009, so chosen by the masses to Stop the terrible manufactured X-factor tripe from gaining top spot.

The UK public spoke. They said no to Simon Cowel and yes to the music of the 'voice for the voiceless'

A great band. I saw them with Deep Purple years ago. Dan had a really great voice. It's a bit thinner now, but heck, we are all getting older. It prompted me to dig some old singles out. I was a Mod in the 60's with a Lambretta 250 and Cuban heeled boots. This guy was a mod favourite in his time and is still going strong.

In the early 70's I was blasting my way around on a Triumph 500 with rather noisy reverse cone mega exhausts and wearing black leathers, so this would sum it up
