As you are probably aware, there has always been a lot of comparisons between the 2 albums. WYWH slightly edges it for me and is my favourite Floyd album. Whether Dark Side is second or not I'm unsure but Great Gig in the Sky is an absolute standout track for me on there followed closely by Us and Them and Brain Damage. Of course Crazy Diamond and WYWH are 3 standouts on the later album. Having seen Aussie Floyd a few times and yes, I know they're a tribute band, I'm really looking forward to visiting Bath next Wednesday. If any tribute band can sell out at £50 a ticket and are also asked to perform at David Gilmour's 50th birthday party then they must be good eh? ![]() #3

They also do a BHLR coach. They were only available at Pecorama at the time but they may be elsewhere as well by now.Quote from: Newportnobby on Yesterday at 09:31:07 AM'Pecorama' only resonates with those who know the tradename 'Peco' i.e. railway modellers. #4

General Discussion / Re: what are you listening to ...Last post by Moonglum - Yesterday at 09:22:42 PMAttention Pink Floyd fans @Trainfish , "Wish You Were Here" was released just over 50 years ago and a new box set is on it's way (no surprise there!). Included is "Shine on You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-9" remixed by James Guthrie and for the first time as a complete piece at 25m 26s long. As with "Animals 2018", the remix sounds very good through my cheapo Sony headphones. Judge for self...
Alan Parsons "Darkside of the Moon" declined to be the recording engineer and Brian Humphries was drafted in. I always felt WYWH was a bit of a disappointment after DSOM, but it's still a very good album... Tim #6
General Discussion / Re: PecoramaLast post by Bealman - Yesterday at 09:18:18 PMAnother good idea. I'm a huge fan of that sort of thing, and bought wagons from Minatur Wunderland and the Kyoto Railway Museum, for example.

Some vendors (particularly in Europe proper) seem to work around this by selling collectors wagons and the like that can only be bought in their official shop. I am sure there's scope for Peco to knock up a yearly BHLR official wagon that you can't buy anywhere else or mail order #8

If so I cannot understand why they were not moulded in POM-C! It would be interesting to know! I could be mistaken, but I believe that gears can also be laser cut in POM-C sheet. That's certainly interesting! The simplest solution as it stands, would be to get my current supplier to make brass gears and then buy in acetal worms if I can get them. Though the 2mm society ones are approximately M0.25 which is curious. #9

Modern machining tolerances and POM gears should never suffer than kind of issue. Perhaps the ideal would be a POM work onto a duplex with a helical outer gear. If the gear axles themselves were mounted in phosphor bronze bushing with occasional easy servicing with PTFE grease, that should result in a pretty bomb proof mechanism.....at least one hopes! Assuming these gears are moulded from POM, which is likely. If so I cannot understand why they were not moulded in POM-C! Dave | Please Support Us!
