Stent in and back to the bus stop.

Well, after having had a stent put in to an artery on me ticker, all seems well, so back to the Bowlo bus stop...

Obviously a leftover from our Federal election the day let me out of hospital!

Vote for freedom? No worries, they let me out on voting day!  :beers:

On a bitterly cold night, Bealman noticed something different. They're now open 24 hours!

He also noticed that they're advertising for cleaners.

That's a result then - only open for 24 hours a week!  :D

As a matter of interest, what's your definition of "bitterly cold"?  :hmmm:

I'm not sure what the actual temperature was at the bus stop last night, but a combination of a single digit, crystal clear skies and a fairly strong wind made the "feels like" temperature very low. All I know is I was bloody cold  :cold:

This weekend (public holiday weekend) is the official start of the ski season, and they have the best snow they've had for many years.

Cold weather - good night for a Guiness!
Get the blood pumping through the new stent, give it a workout  ;)

The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted the coasters around the beer. This is the new logo of Figtree Sports Club, as Figtree Bowling Club is now known.

We now have poker twice a week. What's the world coming to.  :(

Didn't realise poker was a sport ???

You and me both! A college mate who was a PE student tried to do his dissertation on snooker, but it got knocked back. They let him do fishing, though.

George, will you be saying that you are going down the "Sporto" now?  ;)
Cheers, Trev.

They show it on CBS Sport and it was on ESPN so yes, it must be a sport  :hmmm:

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

A Change.

Bealette1 asked us to have lunch with her today, at a place called Resin.

I'd never heard of it. Turns out that it's a boutique brewery at a place called Bulli. It's a converted station master's house, next to the South Coast mainline to Sydney.

Anyway, a change. Sorry, @Trainfish , but expensive crap craft beer, and expensive crap food. For young trendoids only.

Looks like a lovely day, but Mrs B is rugged while Bealette One puts the accelerator on GrandBealette2  ;D

You might prefer our local micro brewery at Ponsanooth (about 3 miles down the road).
Dynamite  Valley who operate in the lockups under the railway viaduct.
It's very rustic as you see. Inside with roaring log burner in Winter and outside "seating" in Summer.
Great beers and great food served up by local artisan food sellers.

I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

Dynamite Valley, eh? I wouldn't call what we had at this boutique brewery Dynamite! But at least it didn't taste like perfume like much of the stuff you get at these places does.

Unfortunately it was served in thimbles! So why am I smiling?

Because it beats hospital!
