 SWMBO has already started reminding me and dropping hints that its her Ruby wedding Anniversary on the 1st of August.
She reminds me every year and so far Ive not forgotten many times. I guess shes hoping I`ll at least send her a card.
Unfortunately as its her 40th and a recognised named anniversary I cant get away with resending an old card again.(I know where her stash of old cards is hidden).
Maybe I could send her a sprig of tomatoes as an appropriate gift well they are red and in season.
Guess I may end up looking through ebays rubbish for her again  ::)

You could get her a nice red EWS or LMS loco but I don't think she'd be amused  :D

Get her a Farish 40 to show that you've given it some careful consideration.

You could bite the bullet and take her away for a few days. They say Hamburg is very nice, at this time of year.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

A nice bottle of ruby port.
Get the good lady drunk and then smuggle all those purchases past her ;)

I took Della to Hamburg for a special birthday last year, spent two days in Miniature Wunderland and a lot of time hanging over the railings at Hamburg station watching stuff come and go.  Only about half a day was spent in a shopping centre, perfect solution for both of us  :D

Bealman

Quite a good pub close to MW in Hamburg... claims to be Irish. They do dispense Guinness, though.   :pint:

Buy her a loco, could be anything you want, then present her with it on the day. Then pull out her actual gift of something jewellery with rubies in it. She'll not be bothered in the slightest that you've just bought yourself a new loco!
