Too large maybe (either file size or pixel dimensions)? I think that's been reported by others as a reason for this failure .  What file size/dimensions are you trying to upload?

I was about to say the same thing.

I've just uploaded a picture from my ipad, 388KB, no problem.

No idea,  I've just taken pictures before on this tablet and posted them directly.  Never had a problem before,  I'll have to go and investigate..

This has now been added as a feature.  I believe that the saved post is stored on your profile/account settings.

On the NGF forum.  I have no control of the SMF forum!  :)

Just start creating a post and you'll see "Save as Draft" next to "Post" and "Preview".

I used to be able to add pictures from my phone, but ever since Christmas all I get is

Incorrect file type

Pictures are jpg, whatever that is and have absolutely no idea how anything gets changed to a different format. I assumed it was because of the galley upgrade over new year but clearly not

The photos are too large.

exmouthcraig

Do we know the limit size of a pic, after I'd shrunk it to just the coupling it was 45kB.

I guess that's quite small  :confused2:

I resize to 1920 to 1080 pixels  which is more than adequate for a website.

I usually shrink to 2500 pixels, in 'Paint', (the other measurement is automatic), and it quite often works. However, looking at the 'Properties' of a picture, it seems to be that anything less than 2MB will be accepted by the forum.

Appear to be having a similar challenge but before I move on can I check.  I can put the images into a post by linking to uploaded images in my library so the pictures are on the board.  I can preview the post and see the pictures but when I come to post I get a File Format error.  Looking at my posting template it says the only allowed formats for pictures are PDF's.   Is this a known problem or the same as others ?   Thanks

ntpntpntp

@Gavin

quite a few people, especially newbies it seems,  get caught out with the "PDF only" limitation which applies to the "attachments and other options"  link below the editor text box.

I always use the "add image to post and upload to gallery" link which is right above the text box where I'm typing this reply.  No problem uploading jpg images etc. using that option.

I've added a link to an online Photo Editor, for those who don't have their own software.  Simply hover on the Gallery menu button at the top of the forum and select Photo Editor.
