No Toby though !?????

Just for you . . .
[smg id=39435 type=preview align=center caption="Tomy Toby"]

It's a Tomy wind up toy - hence the slot in the side. Sat on a Peco brake van chassis for now.
Oodles of room inside for an off the shelf motorised chassis, which I will fit 'one day'!

Cheers

Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had toiled to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;

Size matters - especially if you don't have a lot of space - and N gauge is the answer!

Warship the Worry Engine was worried about the funny-coloured kettles surrounding him.

Anyway, this was what I came along to post before being distracted by Thomas and Toby.

A Restaurant First Open and Second Open to add to the BCK en route to creating Wessex Belle aka Swanage Railway's dining train.
I sliced out a row of seating in the SO to get correct interior, and the 'lamps' are beads stuck on stiff wire. Well I think it looks OK!
The crimson of the FO is slightly lighter than that of the other coaches in the same livery. Not a matter of concern to me, just an observation.

Cheers

Dapol 22 arrived, smiles all round:

All your rocos are far too crean.
No Rocos in that picture, just Farish and Dapol.  :hmmm:

Now, the maroon one in the picture below, that's a genuine Made in Austria Roco. :beers:

Newest arrival via eBay.

I'm not sure why Dapol have not done more Halls in black. It's a nice runner from the brief bit of testing that I have done, so all good there. It will need the wheels painting and to be renamed (I already have one of these).

Newportnobby

It does look good in black and, considering any green had soon vanished under layers of grime in the latter years, would look nice in a late crest :hmmm:

A nice new addition to my fleet arrived today.

When Bach-Farish announced the NSE 08 in March I was happy but I thought it would be months, possibly years, until it was actually available to buy. However, they went on sale in April and I was therefore only too happy to set aside some birthday funds for one.

Many thanks to @B757-236GT once again, especially for putting up with my impatient inquiries as to when my one would turn up. I have just run Ivor up and down my fiddle yard and can happily confirm all seems well mechanically

Here are a couple of my latest acquisitions, 5MT from Rails and the coaches picked up from Hatton's as I happened to be passing.  Apologies for the poor picture quality taken with the tablet.  Must set the railway up and give them a run.  Did these sets ever run with other coaches?

The Bulleid 3-set as modelled by Farish were used on the Waterloo-Bournemouth and Waterloo-Salisbury-West of England services. On the principal expresses, leaving Waterloo, there would be at least one of these sets in each train, along with a 5- or 6-Dining set and a couple of BCKs to be dropped along the way for branch connecting services. They were also used singly on semi-fast services.

Looks great, I'd love a Hall in Black with the early British Railways crest.
