Hi Guys, another question if I may, I have built my base now 6ft x 2ft, and I am now ready to start laying some track and detail, my question is who is the best and obviously cheapest supplier for basics like mod roc, scatter, paints spray glue etc, I have found some things but one supplier has one thing and another has something else etc, I was hoping to fid a good supplier who carries pretty much everything, thanks guys.

I know the feeling, it is a tricky one.  Often I end up resorting to ebay as I don't have a decent model shop nearby.  If you do have a local shop they may order in what you need to complete your order and that may even give you leverage for a cash discount.  Unfortunately shops have greater overheads than online retailers and sadly (for the shops) when it comes to finances, buying online is often the cheaper option.

I would have thought that http://www.gaugemaster.com/index.html would have everything you need though I can't say how good they are on price comparisons.  You can pretty much count on getting everything you want from ebay but probably for different suppliers.

Then there is always the shows, if you have one coming up near you there might be the opportunity for a bit of haggling if you are spending big

GM certainly carry a huge stock. It`s the 1st supplier that I delt with and I still use them regularly but theres always some items they are out of stock on........this can unfortunately mean extended delivery times sometimes of weeks or more. Stick to ordering whats in stock and you wont go wrong.
As far as pricing concerned......  sometimes they can be bettered on a few items so hunt around.
A great shop to visit 'in the flesh' tho as long as you leave your wallet at home or warn your bank 1st

When it comes to my wallet, my wifes always warning me

LOL, I have to ask for my wallet, sign a release form and inform SWMBO of approximately (to the nearest 1/10 cent) what I think I will be spending, she then halves that figure deducts the petrol money and sends me on my way with a stern warning on overspending...  If she ever finds out about the PayPal account there will be a new patio in the garden and one less husband
