Do you mean PADUK, or do you mean PADAUK?

I've heard of the latter.

Padauk is pricey. I used some for a job some years ago.

Just checked the latest prices...

2 off 6"×2"×6' boards runs to £100 +vat

as opposed to the same in softwood in Jewson, TP, etc., about £10 + vat.

It does look good oiled though.

You are quite right about the blood stains, but the wood is Paduk and a piece that size over in the UK would cost a fortune.
