Hi all, I may have already mentioned this but it is a good cause

My daughter is part of the Thorntons team taking part in the Maggies bike & hike this year (yours truly is doing the support team for them) and they are hoping to raise £6000 for this fantastic charity.

It would be great if you could follow this link, http://www.justgiving.com/Thorntons-Law-LLP and make a small donation, and if you tick gift aid, the government will chip in some extra too.

Thanks for reading this

Cheers fella, yes very important to keep the profile of this up, I would have given it a go myself but in the last 4 years I have had 3 knee ops ( I need at least one replaced) and late last year had a disc removed from my back so am in no fit state for 52 miles, but I am going to drive for the team and makes sure they have everything they need, fresh clothes, hot drinks, first aid etc, it will be a 6 am start on Saturday and I wont get done till tea time Sunday, the team will be biking \ walking all through the night.

Yes, a great cause Lawrence.  I'm currently doing my own charity event, so I'll see if I have any spare cash to donate soon.  I'm shaving all of my hair off for Help for Heroes in two weeks..... I'm a biker/Rocker and so I have hair halfway down my back.     Soon to be a skinhead.

Well as an ex military man myself (RAF), I applaud you, Help for Heroes is one I do give money to on a regular basis as well as the shoebox parcels for our forces abroad.

You realise we will need before and after pictures  :smiley-laughing:

The rug rat, Kirstie is no rug rat, she will be 26 this July! I was a child bridegroom obviously  ;D

Your donation has been noted and gratefully accepted, you're a gent, I'll rescind that F252 now

My best wishes for the fundraiser. Good idea to bump. Donation sent.

I ran the London marathon in 2009 to raise money for Refuge. I was amazed and touched by the sheer number of runners whose t-shirts bore dedications to parents or siblings or friends who had died of cancer. All in all it was an incredible day but that is one of the things that stays with you... All those people who had chosen to help fight cancer because of their own personal story.

Hope it goes well.

Just a quick update on the fundraising.

There was a band night and raffle on Friday night and it looks like it raised over £1000 to add to the current total which is just over £1700

Only 4 days to go now, hoping the weather keeps fair for the participants, if you would still like to donate to Kirsties team at Thorntons just go to http://www.justgiving.com/Thorntons-Law-LLP  and mention N Gauge Forum  ;)
