Hattons closing down. Colour me shocked!

For those who aren't aware, this went up yesterday:

I'm really sad by this. While I know there are other shops online, I always found the Hattons website by far the easiest to use. Clean, logical, with a reliable search engine. On top of that, their prices were usually good.

I'll be very sorry to see them go, and wish all involved the best of luck in the future.

Yes, bit of a shock. They were a British model railways institution for just about all of my life.

I even called into their Liverpool shop in 2013 and 2014.

My daughter currently has Rapido  SECR stock on pre-order as a present for me. I guess that's gone west!

Just seen this news in my inbox.   I know the world is a changing place and nothing stands still but Hattons have been huge in this hobby for such a long time.
