Hi all,

Does anyone have spare packs of the old BR Lines N-Gauge Handrail Knobs that they don't need, as I can find a good home for them. I am still looking to redo my 3 UM GWR locos, removing the old paint, and redoing the handrails. Hence, I am still in need of the appropriate handrail knobs.

Yes, I kick myself all the time thinking that I should have gotten these when BR Lines was still in business...always putting it off until it was too late. However, hoping one or more of you out there have some laying about and willing to part with them.

Thanks in advance.

I think there was a thread about this a few weeks ago. Have you searched?

Have Farish N Spares said they're no longer being produced  (I see they are out of stock).  If that's the case then should be taken off the website.

I'm pretty sure the 2mm Scale Association does handrail knobs. Have you tried them? You might need to join to purchase from their shop but it's worthwhile, like joining the NGS is.

They do, and one does.

They come as an etched sheet of 20 in nickel-silver (50p each) so are flat, however soldering or glueing them to the handrail wire fills in the flatness so they look OK. I didn't find them as easy to fit as the N-Brass turned ones, which I used to slip onto the wire then fit to the model. With these I found it easier to fit the knobs to the model, then feed the wire through.

They do however, I found, have one distinct advantage over turned brass ones - if you don't quite get the holes in line, don't get the knobs in quite square or don't quite get the handrails straight, then they can be bent slightly after fixing to correct it  ;)

Although one has to join the Association to buy their products, they do have a wide range of other items that could be of use/interest too.

Thanks for all the input.

In response...

Yes, Farish Spares don't have any in stock...and since BR Lines is no more, well, nothing...

I am aware of the flat PE versions from 2mm Society, but I need the round brass ones with the hole in the middle, as these just look so much better.

And finally, yes, aware of the previous threads on this subject, some of which I have also commented.

Now I could print some in 3D but they would be too fragile I think for handling. So brass ones like those BR Lines did are definitely what I am after...so anyone out there with some spare???

I understand that lprails have taken over BRLines, so try them.

Thanks guys! Emails sent out to both LP Rails and BH Enterprises, so hopefully one of them will be able to help out.
