That's the first time I've heard Gordon Lightfoot for a very looooong time.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Here's a band that were on the brink of breaking through in the early 2000s but didn't quite make it.
Thirteen Senses hail from Cornwall.
Mrs PP and I saw them twice, once at Glastonbury in about 2004 I think.
I rather like them but see what you think:
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I started off after dinner with some fave tracks from Chicago Transit Authority which led me to dig out this single........

Then I played this track from the excellent and very talented Jeff Healey as I prefer his version to the ZZ Top one.......

It must be years since I last heard 25or 6 to4.
And CTA was a cracking album.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Both good tracks Mick. Have to say that I haven't discs by either artists (although I once had a CD single from "See the Light" and have "One More Story" by Peter Cetera on CD).

Sorry Martin, I am not so sure about Thirteen Senses - not really my thing.

Probably why they never really quite made it  :D

Quite nice instrumentally Martin but not so keen on the vocals!

Funny you should mention that but I think that may well have been their failing.

Plus, I think, their album was a little under produced.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Sorry, but they sound like they look - a school music lesson band

Dull, grey miserable morning with pissistent rain and something innocuous playing but, hey, sometimes bland is relaxing..........

That is spooky.

I'm in the railway room fiddling about with the layout and listening to......you guessed it - The Alan Parsons Project.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

I think that I shall join you two and have a bit of "Pyramid" this afternoon. I have had four of his releases over the years. Well recorded and produced (as one would expect) but probably bland if not predictable. Gave up after "Eye in the Sky"!

I've found a playlist on Spotify that has every single hit from the UK chart throughout the 70's, so that's taken me a few weeks to work through while working on the layout. Some real classics on there, plus stuff I'd forgotten about like Hawkwind's "Urban Guerilla" which I think had to be withdrawn from sale, not until after a mate bought a copy though. Lots of rubbish in there too, especially before 1977 when Disco and Punk came along. So many old stars too, the usual very eclectic mix of the British public.

I'm now running a music group at the local Mens Shed and it's our meeting tomorrow. Each session has a theme, and tomorrow's is Colours. I've got a short list of seven for me to choose from depending on what else gets played (there's 16-18 attendees normally) including Nick Cave, Jefferson Airplane, Dido, Greyhound, The Who, Visage and Amy Winehouse. Anyone want to guess which tracks they are?!
