£49 for a coach? £285 for a 2-car DMU? Blimey.

Oh come on lads, and ladettes, prices increase, let's just get over it.

It looks like I made a very grave error last year when the CL90's came out.
I bought 2 identical ones the G&W 90047 as I thought that it would be ages before there'd be any re-releases.

Lo and behold they did a Freightliner Green one about 3 months later and now they've gone and done another Orange one, 90048

Looks like a couple more CL90's and a Northern CL158 on my Christmas list.

Regards,

John P

Thompsons in maroon at last! but the price :jawdropping:

given that the J94 was originally a Farish production, why is it released under the EFE brand? I would speculate that another of Dave Jones's toolings has surfaced - wherever it has come from it looks good enough for me to order one

There are price increases and a huge price jumps and this definitely falls into the latter category.  For example, I've got a Dapol 142 dmu (2 car) on pre-order (due later this year) for £137.50.  I could buy two 142 sets for less than the £284.95 that Farish want for one 158 2 car dmu. Ouch! I guess we will "get over it" eventually but it is a bitter pill to take.

No wonder they're releasing more train sets, Xmas isn't long away (mind you the Suburban Sulzer set appeals to me)

I'm assuming the Black 5s are still tender driven.
Finally, great news for those wanting maroon Thompson carriages.

The 158s are the newly-tooled versions but no way I'm getting rid of my Poole and the early Chinese models

According to Graham Muz of Kernow this new N Gauge J94 is a a totally new tool model that has absolutely nothing in common with the old Farish model or the vapourware that was all we really ever had as regards the DJM one. It is DCC ready but needs a micro decoder like the one the Farish 03 and 04 shunters use.

Wonder if the PGA wagons with the Class 60 set are new tooling? Looks an interesting set regardless.

The images on RMWeb show the old Poole era tooling, complete with incorrect underframe from the PCA. There's no way you'd get six wagon to current standards for that price. I imagine lots of the wagons (Redland livery PGA) will end up split from the set and doldrums separately.

A nice haul for us N Gaugers once again.

Particularly pleased about the maroon Thompsons which are long overdue. Good to see the Black 5s back as they have started to become a bit rare on the 2nd hand market - shame they have not redesigned the motor in the loco or added sound capabilities. I'll also be ordering one of the J94 which look lovely.

Graham

Looks like a 90048 will be heading down under in due course.

Look back to 2016 for the main cause.

This matches what I've been told about the model. No relation to the proposed DJM version.

It's good to see EFE releasing more powered models in N Gauge, and the J94 is an excellent choice given the types long life span and industrial use.

Tom.
