Good news that I've cut down to 4x Tramadol a day from 8 although the missing 4 have been replaced by paracetamol. Just 2x 500mg of Naproxen means I'm only on 10 tablets a day now rather than 18 a couple of months ago. I really must be more careful when descending those stairs!

In other good news, my 2-car Farish Express Parcels DMU turned up today and I was surprised to find that both units are powered. It looks like this is normal too, why is this? At £76 I'm not complaining, just curious.

Went through Blackfriars today - first time I've been since the station re-opened. What an impressive station!
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

The actual price was £84.50 from Trains & Diecast which seems a good price but ebay also sent me a 10% off voucher for any purchase over £25 so that brought it down to £76.05

You're not wrong there orb! I've only been on the Tramadol for 5 months which isn't a long time compared to what some people are on but they are VERY addictive! The only way I can describe how my head was feeling for the first week was as if I had just emerged from a Motorhead gig in the Colston Hall in Bristol (I know that as I've seen them there twice!) as my ears were ringing. There's still a small ringing but it's decreasing by the day now and I'm on day 10. I'm just hoping I can give them up as easily as I gave up the morphine back in June. The only confusing thing is if I can give up both the morphine and the Tramadol then why the hell can't I give up the cigarettes???

:D :D :D :D Been there and done that and it wasn't easy, thanks to my ex Missus nagging me to death about smoking I finally managed to give them up but it wasn't easy.
I suggest you find someone to nag you maybe that would work for you to  :hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:

One thing at a time, old chap! Take it easy and good luck with the 'plan'.  ;)

Glad you got that bargain. My GF DMU runs very nicely but note that it would need 2 DCC chips should I decide to go that way.

Thanks for the support and advice guys. I already have someone nagging but to be honest I think the rebel inside me tells me to carry on while she's nagging me. I don't think she quite understands that there's more chance of me giving up if she doesn't go on about it.

I have only test run the DMU on a wheel cleaner so far and it had excellent slow speed control. I'm still confused as to why a 2-car unit requires 2 motors though  :hmmm:

Well, apart from the obvious things, i.e., wife and kids, model railways, etc., one of the things that makes me happiest is watching one of our cats just getting on with being a cat. When she was just a few weeks old, she got cat flu and on one particularly desperate day we were going to have to decide whether to put her down or not. We decided to fight on and she's now a huge and very beautiful fluffy lunatic, with one eye, ( a legacy of the cat flu), but an undiminished love of life. She always cheers me up if I'm feeling sorry for myself! Even when she's ripping my shirts to pieces with her brother... Aargh!

Trainfish

I couldn't agree more. We have 2 cats, brother and sister. She is an absolute loony who still thinks she's 9 weeks old rather than 9 years and apart from a watery eye once she's never had an issue. Bruce on the other hand has had most cat things you can think of plus he's asthmatic! He has to have an inhaler at least twice a day and steroids in the morning. He had a really bad attack about 9 months ago with his tongue going blue etc and I thought we were about to lose him but the vet was brilliant over the phone and we managed to sort him out using the inhaler and an extra steroid. Now he apparently has a bit of arthritis so has to have a capsule of powdery stuff in his food in the morning. I have absolutely no doubt he will be the first one to go but we love them both to bits just like they do us  :)

Bless all moggy lovers.

Our little old lady was 19 years old last April and is on thyroid control tabs and pain killers for her achy bones. Spoilt rotten she has her own private medic - our vet lives next door - so house visits come free of charge.

She now specialises in sleeping, eating and sitting on the laptop, especially if I'm trying to use it.

Love her to pieces.

Cat loving has been in my family for generations but the past 20 years or so I have taken a preference to cat size dogs, regardless of what pet people have I think its great that people have fun with and love them to pieces
