Having recently just started out in N gauge with a basic oval of Kato track, I am now adding more track and a few points.
I have a Morley Vector Zero Three controller which I really like.
Question......can I safely use the CDU output to operate/power Kato points via a DPDT momentary on switch? They appear to be like a solenoid....  if not, should I use a separate PSU?
I would add that I am reasonably competent with electronics and wiring.

Thanks   Roger

The Kato points are a different 2-wire DC system compared to traditional 3-wire solenoids which can work on AC or DC.  The momentary DPDT needs to be cross-wired to reverse the polarity depending on the throw (I think Gaugemaster offer a pre-wired switch?)

A traditional CDU is not necessary, the Kato mechanisms don't require the same "thump" of power. I guess it would serve to protect against stuck switches though.

Yes, thank you.....that is exactly what I was considering, in fact I have today ordered 6 of those very switches......I have used that  "X" configuration in the past to reverse small DC motors, so I figured that
a set of Kato points would act similarly so thanks for the confirmation and the link..... I wasnt too sure about the CDU tho...
