no picture to hand sadly but it was a EWS class 67 with a rake of container waggons

The last loco to run on my layout was a 2MT tank with a mixed traffic of a mk1 brake and 2 cattle wagons.
Its been a good few weeks now but it was this 37 with some Farish, Minitrix and Roco stock:

Oh, and as for detail, its 37043 on the 09:15 Carlisle to Helena, Montana speedlink feeder service (via Ayr Falkland Yard MWFO)
Mine was a class 37,number 37238 and a class 55 deltic number 55002 KOYLI.
Both were bought over a week ago.The 37 was bought as discontinued stock from a well known shop and the deltic was bought at a show our model railway club exhibited at in Sheffield last saturday.Unfortunately, both required a small amount of surgery.
The 37 only had lights working in one direction so needed its lighting contacts to be adjusted so they made contact with the body contacts and the deltic was found to have one split gear and a lot of oil removed from its mechanism, most likely to try and mask the split gear.
I removed the bogie, which is no mean feat considering I didn't know how to do it at first, the bogie frame was removed next allowing access to the wheel that had the split gear.I took it out,set it running to check it was ok,removed the faulty gear from its axle and replaced the wheels within the bogie.I then tried for the next half hour to reposition the bogie but due to the driveshaft being such apain to line up I had a bit of a fight with it.I'm glad to say,I.nw have a deltic with one less driven axle but it runs as sweet as a nut.

The 1515 arrival from Dortmund hauled by a 218 diesel - the only proper (i.e., non-push-pull) loco hauled train of the day on the branch. 7 minutes late, points failure at Surbiton (it's complicated).
On my main layout I suspect it was a 150/2 DMU back in 2008 before it got stored. On any of the attempts since, who knows but the layouts weren't sufficently finished to count!
Last train to run on my layout was a SantaFe E8 pulling 4 65ft passenger cars.
The 16:45 Eurostar Service from St Malo to Penzance via a second Channel Tunnel stopping at St Clements (a station near Starcross)
Another Class 37 !! ;D
37 672 in Railfreight Distribution livery southbound with a rake of fourteen fully-loaded container flats 8)

A two-car JR Eastern class 119 EMU. That was about a month ago on Yamanouchi Oshika. Nothing has run on my other layout for about three months now... although if memory served me right, it was a DE10 with a single tank wagon...
A Minitrix "Evening Star" with a rake of 5 Bachfar Pullmans :)
9f on the Pines hauling 7 coaches, 3 green, 4 maroon.......
running SO smoothly too!!!!
a 150/1`testing point electrical consistancy,,,,,,,, before that it was class 47 with 6 mk3's,,,, no pics tho,,,
Just ran the 8.35 Cattle Van empties (plus a single waggon of loco coal) - 9 waggons plus brake van (GWR Toad) from Truro to the Goods Yard at Port Perran ready for loading woth Cornish Broccoli. Loco was a GWR pannier which will return to Truro later with the 9.05 parcels (plus a milk tank).
Where's all the picies lads? Hot off the press my 30+ year old GF Merchant Navy "Belgian Marine" with a rake of 5 hopefully right era Southern Coaches, two picked up a couple of weeks ago at the QE school Wimborne toy fair with HID's approval.

It is a Bachmann Spectrum and it runs very smoothly, I am really happy with it ;D
I bought four Union Pacific coaches and needed a loco to pull them, saw a few comments here so looked into the Consolidation and was lucky to buy it from a member in this forum.

I chucked an oval of Kato track on the floor yesterday and gave my Super View Odoriko a run, so smooth. There is one on ebay if anyone fancies it ;D

:A1Tornado:Well not a big puffer but a Dapol 45xx hauling an old Farish 4 wheeled coach that has been butchered to look like a riding van, sorry for all you post 70's folk a crew van for a re-railing train but its my track cleaning vehicle with those skid things. On the other loop was a Minitrix green warship hauling a set of Dapol Collet coaches. Then my wife said it was a about time that I sorted out the roof, walls etc of the railway room (its a cellar room but at ground level to the garden). There were also some other jobs not railway related so obviously of secondry importance. So for the last 2 months everything is stuck where it stopped the fiddle yard is full of trains and everything else is piled over the tracks as soon as this Xmas rubbish is over I can start to get back to some real work. ok there's time for a few :beers: while I debate the next job.
Brand new Dapol Class 121 Bubblecar.
Just happens that it has a longer wheelbase than anything else I have running so had to realign the church wall to avoid fouling it!
Lovely runner though and a great model.

A 4VEP on driver training.
(Learning how to keep it moving it the absense of third rail - I gather that there's a knack to it).
My track has deteriorated through lack of use/maintenance over the last couple of weeks, so I'll probably take this opportunity to amend the layout to something less DB and more BR-SR/WR.
A2 60532 "Blue Peter" still yet to receive it's nameplates substituting for a failed "Peak" on the up "Waverley".
On the subject of the A2, it is a resin kit I had from years back bought on e-bay. Sat for about four years part finished and in recent weeks I have finished painting lining and detailing it. Aside from the plates all that is left to do now (possibly) is a layer of fine crushed coal to go over the moulded stuff in the tender. I think it was originally marketed by "Pro-Models" (Gordon Payne) but later under a name something like "Fifty Six and Three Quarter" Models. I can find no trace anywhere on the internet of the kit now. I had a feeling thr moulds may have subsequently passed on again - can anyone shed any light. I may well have a go at another if thry are still available anywhere..
Roy
Today it was an 8F which I've been sound fitting. It's an absolute pig of a loco to convert because the back axle is very close to the brush holder and you need to file the slot wider to take the insulation then feed the wire somehow without fouling the wheel which itself is a tiny shade clear of the brush clip.
Anyway tis done and after about four attempts, a lot of swearing and poking with a meter it's now got a Digitrax sound decoder in it - which is a very tight fit indeed. I've also removed the awful plastic coal load and fitted the speaker outlet there, just needs a dusting of real coal.
Hopefully tomorrow will be the first run of the Coronation I've been assembling this evening and then I need to figure out how to DCC the old Britannia chassis it uses.
Alan
My new Kato Eurostar.
The last train to run on my layout was an Alco RS18 pulling a short train of coal hoppers and a cupola caboose.
Warship 'KELLY' in BR blue and a rake of parcels stock. Now the tracks been tested, let the scenics begin !
hi all

The real 33030 running tender first hauling a rake of 8 mk1's.
Hi all
Last train to run on my layout before I dismantle was a Class 45 with Mk1 Pullmans x6 and a Class 37 with a rake of 14 t oil tankers x 19.
An NSE liveried 33 was sent to all corners of the layout to round up the last items of German stock, bringing them in to be boxed away while I go British.
Sounds good....but a little sad......but good! ;D
With my layout finally home from its 4 years in storage I can report that the last train this evening was a 4CEP running anticlockwise and a 9F with my steel train clockwise. Glad to have a layout again and even happier that the 9F which is out of warranty and was before I got to finally run it, put in 2 hours tonight with no dramas. There are some pictures of my layout on my blog. Address below.
My Farish/Bachmann class 108 3 car which arrived earlier this week on one line, and my F/B 94xx pannier in B.R. black and autocoach on the other

Class 101 DMU, green livery, driver training/route learning and track testing, Salisbury up sidings to Salisbury Central, 4 return trips.
A Farish 0-6-0 general purpose loco with a short freight train.
A sound equipped Dapol 221 voyager which is now sitting in Snow Hill forming the test train for the first two tracks and the wiring so far.
Time to depart
"Cos I'm leaving on a test train,
Don't know if it'll derail again

My last train ran was a Lifelike GP20 pulling a long freight train, perfect for testing the modifications to my track layout, thankfully no derailments.

hi guys
Just running in my new class 20`s looks great double heading my coal wagons..
Greenmax chassis plus two CCTs testing new trackwork.
4VEP+2HAP gauge-testing newly installed carriage shed.
Ran these Lifelike FA1 and FB1 units last nite on my mates layout... They really are up there with the best - Kato and Atlas should be worried ! Such slow running, very very quiet and really powerful, anybody into US 'N' scale you really must get some of these !!!
I must confess... I haven't started my US layout yet - still gathering bits, but it's coming ! ;D

While I was doing a bit of faffing on the layout I was running my old class 33 with 3 x green MK1's. Unfortunately this then turned into the same 3 Mk1s pulled by a green Warship then a green Std 5. I finished up with a weathered green Teddy Bear pulling 15 x weathered Presflos around :-X
I know I should be doing something else but I just can't resist the temptation to play trains :-[
Technically the last "Train" to run was an empty stock move, RFD 08 and 8 HAA's
But this morning there were several light engine movements from the TMD to "rest of the world" as I cleared the way for more work on the layout.
Unlike Nobby, I didn't play at all :laughabovepost:
Skyline2uk
A 6-CEP on the branch shuttle, been having a bit of fun.
Dodger
An SNCF BB22200 with all seven of the newly released Arnold round sided bogie grain wagons.
Mike
Class 33 taking some Siphon-Gs and CCTs from the WR carriage sidings down the City branch to get them out of the way while I relaid some sidings, returning light engine, hanging about a bit then testing all the new trackwork.
Last train to run on my layout was a Minitrix Ivatt 2MT with 3 LMS Crimson coaches and what a wonderful experience it was, gee I wish Hornby would re-release the Hornby Minitrix stuff.
only on 3 modules-not Heel Halt
Arnold shunter with 2 peco 10' wagons
My last train to run was this Atlas BNSF dash 8-40B and Kato Amtrak phase II 'Superliners'.
Both excellent models and will be the last to run on 'Earlstone Creek' for a while as i've got a few improvements to make, mainly removing the 9" curves and replacing with 10 3/8" curves so i can run more 6 axle stuff !

Thanks newportnobby, if they're still there Friday i'll get one, but i'm saving my cash for my trip to Telford in the morning. I've been invited to the 'International Plastic Modellers Society' annual show and i'm hoping to pick up an airbrush and compressor set. If i'm really lucky, i might find that model kit of the yellow loader from 'Aliens' i've always wanted... (yes, i'm a sci fi nut too... ::))
Had a bit of an 8 axle running sesh yesterday.
I have 3 x class 40's and 3 x Peaks so let them all stretch their legs a bit.
And they're all green :P
Last train was a 4CIG working the 2310 Waterloo to Salisbury City, then ECS to Salisbury South EMU depot.
Tomorrow it will be rested, and its diagram taken over by a Jaffa cake 4CEP.
