From what I can see after many years of viewing the morning weather forecast on TV nearly every day. It would seem the further north one venture's the wetter it gets.

So I'm quite happy to be residing in the sunny south!

Many, many moons ago, the 10 x 6 night shift complained one year that they had to work an extra hour so they should get 1 hours overtime. The bosses decided that they were correct and they got their hours overtime. Come the following March, when the clocks went forward, the 10 x 6 night shift were told that they had to work until 7am.  . (Incidentally, I am working nights this weekend  and, as far as I know, it is a question of 'hard luck'  :'().
