Changing the theme a bit here, I have just joined the Bachmann collectors club and I am looking forward to all the literature that comes with being a member, the reason I have joined is because of all the good feed back it receives from fellow members.

Just goes to show forums spread the good and bad news, I feel Dapol will have to change its attitude towards members before I join that club.
I joined the Bachmann club at the same time as I tried to join the Dapol club. Such different experience!! I am so pleased with what I have received so far and have already purchased some of the collectors items at a good price. I've probably already got my membership fee back.
:D

I have been a member of Bachmann Club a number of years and without exception they deliver every ppromise, magazines, club model, days out etc. no problem at all with them, just a shame others do not follow suit. I do hope you have now received your refund Bob.
Another house move despite "never again" has given me a second floor layout so Geominster Mainline & Heritage Line will be modified and enlarged with siding storage.

My Facebook Diary is Geominster if anyone wants to view it please ask, it is a private group requiring acceptance, thanks.

This then is my third version modified which has been improved from previous efforts and lessons learned.

Geominster was my first project which has now been dismantled. Having learnt so much from  previous Geominster projects this is the latest one.

You're not as old as I thought George. Brian Rix was an actor who specialised in farces (passed away now). Can't remember any of the plays he acted in now but he was a household name and very funny. :beers:
Sorry I believe he's still alive.

Anybody have any updates on whether Dapol collectors club is now worth the effort of trying to join.
As you will see from earlier posts on this thread I had a very bad experience with the Dapol club.
Bachmann club is great and I will continue to subscribe.

Latest feedback on Dapol club would be appreciated.
Ta!!  :beers:

Having just read this thread, I can't believe you would give them another go! You're a much more forgiving sort than I! I have been looking at joining the Bachmann club as I want both steam locomotives and both coaches currently available, but the cost is a bit high, especially since I'm used to getting the VAT deducted from UK purchases on top of the 15% lower that retail is from MSRP.

I can't find a listing of the available Dapol collectors club items, but apparently the next up is to be a Grange in black livery with GW on the tender. Anyone know what else they have on offer? Since their dates run Feb 1st-January 31st, it would certainly be a waste to renew before February....
