Been at our club night tonight.Took a load of seep motors with me to solder the wires to.Used their leccy not mine.Did 10,got bored of doing the same repetitive job for almost two hours, glad I didn't take any more.Still,I'm getting pretty good at soldering,so,every cloud and all that.
Ollie, did you try that tip I gave you a couple of weeks back of squeezing the body of the 108 dmu to engage the motors drive train?
Pete

Testing a 150 and packing all but the motor chassis to go off  elsewhere for conversion into something interesting. The motor chassis will drive something interesting here. Also looking at the best way to build the chassis for my 'Tommy' now the 4 axles of tender wheels have arrived. That'll make it even more accurate than using a Hymek as my bogie wheelbase will be correct and I'll have 4' or so spoked (ok not great spokes) wheels.

Fitting a decoder to the 26, which now need a bit more running in to make sure it doesn't die horribly, then its wheels are going off for turning down to 2fs.

Looking forward to getting the 150, minus the motorised chassis.  I hope your project turns out well.

At the moment, nothing. Should do really seeing that it's making its debut next June in Retford!

I have, however, recently finished turning one of these:

Into one of these:

Can't do a 'how to' step by step on the NGF as there's an article about it due in the NGS WWG December newsletter.
Afterwards, maybe.

Not quite right now, as I'm at work, but I just completed my big project installing sensors and signals and programming the laptop.  My layout now runs automatically with trains stopping at the station and the signals all obeying the block occupancy.  It's very cool when the signals all change as the train goes by.

I have a long Thanksgiving weekend coming up (they let the Brits celebrate that too here) and I hope to finally post my promised CTI Electronics thread...

Then I can do something a bit less electrical and a bit more scenic.  Oh, wait... I will need to do the Faller road system installation next!  I think there might be another show and tell from that - it looks very complicated just for one bus!

Finally started work on my shelf layout, even got the shuttle unit working !  ;D

I like that Gaugemaster backscene, 4x2... it's very effective.  I have that one somewhere and I must try to find a way to use it.

Hi Moogle,

Out of interest what is the shade of green used, it looks like the exact shade I'm looking for, and if possiple where was it sourced.

Thanks

I was quite impressed when i took out of the tube ! Good value for money, only complaint is that gaugemaster do small and large, could really do with a medium size as the small one is only 6 inches tall.

I used the Gaugemaster backgrounds for my MOD layout.  I had to iron it as it was creased, but they're great quality.

I tried Humbrol 'Maunsell Green' as its right for 1950's carriages but looked too dark on a bus.
So its a mix of that and Tamiya 'Flat Green'. About 50/50 I think but may be less Humbrol and more Tamiya!
The light green is similarly mixed though I will get some LNER 'Apple Green' one day as thats near to what was used.
