Went to hospital for day surgery (prostate biopsy).
Arrived at 10am, into surgery at 3:30 pm, left at 5pm.  Delay due to an emergency surgery procedure.
Wouldn't even let me have a drink of water. :(
Now I sit rather uncomfortably. :worried:
To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.

Was it the 'normal' biopsy or the one where they actually give you a general anaesthetic and go in from the outside, (it was called a 'template biopsy' when I had mine)? Either way, if it is any consolation, the discomfort soon wears off. . Hopefully you get a good result. My result is a daily tablet and a 'watching brief', with 6 monthly blood tests.  :beers:
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

At least you got your op. I'm waiting for two procedures, but don't expect anything to happen whilst this pandemic is in full swing.

Twilight anesthesia (can't remember a thing, but quickly awake when they stop injecting anaesthetic), ultrasound probe in bowel, needles inserted from bowel into prostate.
I would be ok with the tablet outcome, beats surgical removal/chemo.

That sounds like what I called the 'normal' biopsy. Nothing was found but a later scan showed a 'dark patch' in the prostate, so the specialist went for the 'template biopsy'. Even that was inconclusive, hence the 'watching brief'. That was about 3 years ago, so I am happy.

Blimey I have just read my last entry on this thread, really was in a bad mood that day!

Anyway, compared to that my next one is very tame.

Had to part company with Aviva as our car insurance provider today (well come renewal).

They have been very good over the last three years (I have mentioned as such on here), but for some reason they have gone up over £50 this time round and can't get within that to other providers.

I know loyalty doesn't count for much these days (well, in some places  >:D) but it's always a shame when a decent firm decides they don't need a customer.

That is a shame just for the sake of £50 which would not exactly put a dent in the profits of Aviva. Has the job situation improved yet?

True, it's interesting how far off they were lots of other big names.

In terms of Job; more Furlough on the horizon, but in a away I am reassured they have dates in the future!

Just before Christmas last year, and on appearances from Harry Billinge on BBC Breakfast, I used paypal to pay a 3 figure sum (no decimal places - honest!) to the Normandy Memorial Fund.
I subsequently discovered paypal hang onto that money for 3 months (thus getting interest on it in order to not charge anyone using that facility), but despite a couple of mails to the Fund using the contact address on their web page no acknowledgement of my donation has been made. I just get automated replies to the tune of "your mail will be responded to by a member of our team shortly"
I don't want any thanks. I just want to know they have received my money as, to all intents, it's just vanished into thin air ???

I'd definitely be chasing that one up.

Huzzah! Finally acknowledged today.

Please accept our sincerest apologies and delayed thanks for your generous & much-valued gift.

I am so sorry that this was not acknowledged at the time; but I wasn't aware of the donation - we are having issue with PayPal in providing the list of donors who have contributed; at the moment they send us an accumulated donation - without the details of the people who made the gift.
I am hoping to resolve this  frustrating issue soon ..

In the meantime, thank you again for supporting the creation of the British Normandy Memorial - this incredible tribute ( hope to be completed in October this year) would not be possible without people like yourselves.
On behalf of the Normandy Veteran Veteran community and all of us at the Trust - thank you!

Best wishes & warm regards

Result Nobby

My rant is very minor in comparison hence unhappy thread rather than Angry.

Toolstation order for some mortar (to re-do garden wall) has gone awol.

And due to Covid, no phone contact.

And they are ignoring e-mail / messages.

And the "tracking" number is "not recognised" according to Parcel Force.

Money taken and I am not sure what else I can do. It's only a fiver but first time I have been in this situation and felt completely powerless.

sounds like one of those new special tracking numbers that only tells you your parcel has been delivered, until that point  "this tracking number has not been reconised please check the number or try again later".
freedom of speech is but a  fallacy.it dosnt exist here

It often happens to me. What Parcel Force are saying is that the barcode on the parcel has not been scanned by the delivery driver. It's just proof of delivery, not really tracking as such.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Interesting.

Actually I forgot the most infuriating part:

Yes their phone lines are down, but I only found this out after waiting 40 minutes on hold (with a robot counting down wait times) until I was cut off!
