To add to my woes --------

Now me colour laser is playing up! OKI 531dn.

Magenta cartridge  empty, so replace with a new one - 231 error 03.

Look it up on line, quite a common occurence, due to loss of communication between a chip on the end fo the toner cartridge and a sensor; resets the copies counter for that cartridge so it can give a "get a new cartridge this ones nearly out"

Carry out the suggested cures,cleaning contacts etc, no joy. Then had a look at the old cartridge, no chip at all, just a sort of plastic blanking piece. I'm tempted to put some tape over the contacts!

Any suggestions? (apart from buy a new printer)
