I am very tempted by the look of this wagon, with its bright red livery, and I am looking for an excuse to have one or more on my LMS-themed layout.

I did some googling and found that Richard Thomas was a big iron company in South Wales, but they had an iron ore mine at Blisworth in Northamptonshire. Presumably these wagons were used to take the iron ore from Blisworth to South Wales, but what route did they use ?

Was it the East & West Junction Railway via Stratford on Avon, or the LNWR to Birmingham followed by the Midland ?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Best regards,

Joe
