Me to, a nice wee rake of 10.

Good price compared to GF's JGAs at around about the £30 mark.

Revolutions HOAs will probably be the the £30 to £35 mark, and I do fancy a rake of them to.

' hello can I speak to the bank manager please?........'

Mmm, my concern is about the forthcoming Revolution orders; IPAs, HOAs, then the re-runs of TEAs and Pendolinos, plus balance payments on the 92s. It's going to get very expensive in Q1!

Dapol put a post out mid June (see below) which says they will be available Q3, so guess they may make it for Christmas.

Mmmm, saw that, they look good. Can't decide if I need a rake or not... Think I'll see if there are bulk discounts at TINGS/Warley!

crewearpley40

always worth asking

if you dont ask you dont get - would make sense to offer packs of 3 or 4

njee20

Cheltenham Model Centre often do packs at exhibitions, last year they were doing MJAs at 4 pairs for £100, whilst they were still £32 each everywhere else. May be worth hanging on. For some reason I don't foresee these being really quick sellers, although I know the OO gauge ones were.

Wonder if they'll stay coupled...  :worried:

Another example of Dapol setting a realistic RPP for wagons and coaches, not like the over inflated prices from Farish and then imposing the limit of 15% discount on retailers. I have not bought any Farish products for years at their normal prices, only fire sale items and second hand from Ebay. If Dapol as a small company with out their own factory can bring items to market at sensible prices it appears Buchmann are just trying to over charge based on their market position. I can understand that small players may charge similar prices for small volumes of specialist wagons and coaches but this argument does not wash with Bachmann. The Hattons dispute may show how a major retailer with muscle in the market has had enough of Bachmann and their restrictive practices. They rely on small margins and high volume sales and they cannot get this with Bachmann's excessive prices. It would not be a surprise if Buchmann lose market share to other manufacturers unless they change their approach

Had my Hattons pre-order processed yesterday, so these should be available in the next day or so.

The Hattons dispute has nothing to do with pricing, so please can we not create more "fake news".

You have indirectly got to part of the problem - Farish have to go to their parent company (Kader) and so don't have the opportunity to get competitive quotes from multiple factories whereas Dapol can and do go to different factories [as does Revolution]. Sometimes though not always you see marked differences in the quotes. So nothing to do with Farish "over charging".

Hi,

OK, got mine delivered yesterday, so first impressions.....

Packaging is a bit different, I think it's similar to the MJAs (from memory), cardboard box with a plastic blister holding the wagon inside. The wagon is wrapped in a plastic sheet and there's a small plastic cover that fits over the top to keep everything in place. Only accessories are detailing pipes for the buffer beams. So no dummy knuckles again with these wagons. I'd like to see them re-introduced as they have been provided with almost all Dapol models for the last 10 years except the MJAs.

Livery seems to be applied well and there is a high level of detail. The wagons feel solid enough, there don't seem to be any detail bits that will get caught and knocked off when handling. They are quite heavy but seem to roll freely very well.

Couplings are a new design and are kinematic. The Rapido couplers don't seem to be the usual Dapol standard length and seem to be a bit longer, this leaves a large distance between the wagons. Coupling heights seem to be OK, only really have one wagon where the coupling is a bit droopy so will have a look at that later. Coupled together there seems to be a bit of a problem with the couplings lifting under tension (even in short formations) and the wagons uncoupling. I'll be swapping the Rapidos for the Dummy Knuckles anyway to close the gaps and that may help the lifting issue.

Would be interested to hear what others think.

Cheers, Mark.
