I'm so angry, spent the evening checking the switches on my peco pL10E's. Found at least three not working correctly, one which had caused a major short on one track. Iv'e come to the conclusion they might be ok for o-o gauge but there is not enough movement in the point for reliable switching with n-gauge.Change of motors on some and possibly use my hex jucer for the others.

For about 4 years I did some clubmans motorcycle racing. Which meant stripping the bike down often. I always had a washer or two left over I think the bike was a few grams lighter when I finished racing :D

I reckon all those bit we found over were deliberately put there to frustrate - just where did they come from, or were they as you say extra weight so the "lighter" factory builds had an even bigger advantage.

Really? REALLY?! Its 2013 and you think its ok to let your dog **** on the ground and just walk away?

Work shoes and car mat fell foul of some lazy #@*% who is an insult to dog owners.

Not a happy Skyline house....

I was chatting to a guy at a show a couple of years ago, I am well into rallying and he used to rally, he was telling me that at one event he was walking past a competitors cars and threw a couple of spare bolts under their car and wandered off back to his car to get ready to compete. As it happened, the other crew got so stressed about these bolts, they spent time going over their engine trying to find there they came from, were late out to the start and got a time penalty losing them the rally! I was told they were really arrogate 'individuals' (ca't use the descrition used here)and he was delighted.

Try looking for live streaming - I often watch mine this way. Have to put up with ads on some channels though

Just spent the morning trying to sell my timeshare (not used it since the wife passed away 5 years ago) fed up paying £450+ in maintenace every year.

They offered me £12,000, BUT I had to first of all buy into some scheme of theirs for £8,800, and I'd get back £20.880 in 14 months time.

When I explained to him that at age 79, on a pension and with an interest only mortgage of £700+ per month where did he suggest I get £8,800 from. If the timeshare had been a luxury penthouse apartment in some sought after location then he could buy it cash and make a profit selling in Russia!

Previous attempts have come up with other scams, paying money up front to cover advertising, paying an insurance or indemnity (refundable they say!!!!!) (against me welshing on the deal!!!!!)

If I try to stop paying the maintenance I'm told they can take me to court and bankrupt me.

Anybody found a painless way to get rid?
Cheers MIKE

Can we cut the racist language. It may have been acceptable 50 years ago but it's up there with a whole pile of other derogatory terms that belong in history.

Unfortunately he spelt it incorrectly, it should be "welching", which does not refer to the Principality, or it's inhabitants and is therefore not racist, but an Americanism, which is almost as bad.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

The OED disagrees with you (as do most of the Welsh folk I know). I'd note that even Michael Gove has apologised for using the term!

Perhaps the reason is more literal....

A Yahoo is a legendary being in the novel Gulliver's Travels (1726) by Jonathan Swift.

Swift describes them as being filthy and with unpleasant habits.

I rest your case....
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

I think we'll just have to disagree as I still believe it is a racing term for a bookie and not to do with the people. According to my Shorter OED, it makes no reference to the folk. I wouldn't expect Michael Grove to know any better.

Irish Padre

EP is correct in his analysis. It is also worth noting that the character Master Jonas in Richard Llewellyn's classic 1939 novel of Welsh life (How Green Was My Valley) also makes a clear allusion between the pejorative description of cheating and Welsh nationality.

Newportnobby

Must admit I always believed it to be 'welching' so think this is another example of differing spelling for the same meaning :confused1: :dunce:

Well more frustrating then angry.... well sort of!

Had to go an do a work health assessment due to exposure to asbestos and some other nasties when i was an apprentice.

Did the health check with the doc, all good then went for the xray.

After the xrays  the radiographer said to me as i was leaving the xrays look all good and you will get a letter with the results from the doc.

About an hour later while coming back from a fire call i get a phone call from the doc saying the xray confirms "something" but she wouldnt elaborate telling me she will sent the results to me asap in the mail and that i have to go for a specialist health check.

Like what the!

One minute im fine, next minute im "sick" but dont worry but you need to go get your lungs checked by a specialist.

Sort of started of feeling good today no feeling crap.

Might just have to go and do an order to cheer me up
