The time has come to end my modelling, I'll be 91 in a few weeks, sight is no longer of use for close up work, plus I'll be moving into sheltered accomodation (if/when the council wake up, only been on the list for 2 years)
I'll be selling the almost complete layout (5'x2'9") needs a bit of track fettling; with a folding table to sit it on; fiddle yard uses cassetes; stock 17 locos mix of Farish, Dapol, Kits and scratch built, nearly all finished in Southern mid 1930s apart from a couple of LMS/Somerset & Dorset. Coaches Dapol Maunsells, Farish, including some hacked Maunsell open 3rds and restaurant, push-pull set, rake of Pullmmans, mixture of wagons and vans. Buildings mostly terraced houses and shops, mix of scratch built and a few kits.
Quite a few A4 drawer units, containing A4 card, plasticard, foam board, other drawer units containing wheels couplungs, nuts, bolts, etched brass windows, doors, fencing and similar itemms. Probably donate the drawer units and contents to the local Area Group (East Dorset)

Such a shame you cannot take it with you to you new home.
Hope you get settled soon.
Cheers   :beers:
Finally, after waiting over 55 years I am building a permanent layout in a purpose built shed!

A great shame that you feel you need to retire from modelling Mike.
Hopefully you settle in to your new adventure though.
Cheers

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Good health and best wishes for the future, Mike.

I'll still poke my nose in here, I've not given up completely, I'm still interested in N gauge. I started N gauge mid 1970s, Society number 2365. Started a group mid 80s, then work moved mr yo Weston Super mud, started another group there, back to Dorset in 92, skint, no job sold some stock, eventually got a job, managed to buy back quite a bit of stock.
Cheers MIKE

All the best Mike. Hope you're able to enjoy railways and modelling without being hands-on.

A great shame, Mike, but I guess it comes to many of us at a certain point in life.
Don't be a stranger as your knowledge can help the younger breed

Sad news Mike, but I hope you'll be happy in your new home.

Best wishes for the move.

I hope that you will have space for your hi-fi system in your new home Mike ?

RailGooner

Not the end of the line Mike, more a diversion from the main line to a branch. Very glad to read you'll continue to contribute here.

With all best wishes for your future, Mark

Sorry to hear you are shunting into a siding, Mike. However, as Mick says, don't go away - you have a wealth of knowledge to pass on. Dammit, your NGS number is even lower than mine!

Why not hang on to some of your favourite locos and stock? You could get a display case and put them on the wall in your new place rather than pass them on to someone who might not really appreciate them.

All the best for the future.

Cheers,

Chris

Maybe you'll have different ideas once you've moved, you never know. Maybe try some dioramas or a short plank layout. All the best with the move whenever that may be and let's hope it's close to a decent pub  :beers:

Ps, your link doesn't seem to work, not for me anyway.
